  1. Hey all,

The Steel City Ambassadors are pleased to announce their kick off performance of the 2013 season. On March 2, 2013 the Ambassadors will be performing in a side by side concert with America's premier, and Pittsburgh's own River City Brass Band. The concert will be held at the Palace theater in Greensburg, Pa. and is set to start at 7:30. Come out and celebrate St. Patrick's day as River City presents "Celtic Connections" and then some Steel City Connections as these two great Pittsburgh brass groups join forces!

  2. All the - Cash Cab - shirts were worn to the breakfast for the induction of Steve Cooley into the World Drumcorps Hall of Fame.... Donnie Allen was the person who named the shirts/people "Cash Cab"... I think we had 5 or 6 people who wore the shirts that weekend of DCA finals....

  3. Hey All,

Time to get fired up.... Steel City Ambassadors drumcorps will be having their Open House @ the Trafford Polish Club on Sunday January 6th from 2 - 6 pm.... Some really great performances are already confirmed for the 2013 season and the continueing participation within the SDCA circuit will be keeping Steel City busy this year... Additional field/concert shows have been booked for the drumcorps....Music is from the Steel City archives from the 1980s and include "How High The Moon" - "Malaga" - "In The Stone" - "Stormy Weather".... The year end performance will conclude with an appearance at the Alumni Spectacular @ DCA in Annapolis, Md over the Labor Day weekend...Get on the bus, get fired-up, and take no prisoners - Steel City Ambassadors 2013 program is beginning on Sunday, January 6th...Don't miss this one....

  4. Hey Gene,

The year is correct... "Oh exhaulted one" and if memory serves me correctly, The Erie Thunderbirds performed in exhibition at the Jamestown show in 2003.....I can see Carl Vulla and Wally Post right now extending a handshake to a friend....If memory serves me correctly, that show was the debut performance for two other drumcorps....Shenandoah Sound in competion and Mon Valley Express in exhibition.....I also agree with Morphyoo when he said that the show was VERY close and could have gone either way in 2003.....Lets see what happens in Salem in 2007.....

Jamestown N.Y. is correct but not sure of the year. They are all (years) starting to run together :sshh:
  5. Hello Morphyoo,

You could double check with a few more older MN Brass alumni members....There was a drumcorps in the mid 1980's from the Pittsburgh area that might also become part of the trivia for your drumcorps.....

    Just my $.02 worth....

See "yunz" all in Salem on the 28th.....

Yeah the Jamestown, NY show was in 2003. We ALMOST pulled out a victory there too!

A little trivia that was told to me by some of the aged alumni of the corps: In the history of the corps, Empire Statesmen is the only DCA corps that MN Brass has never beaten.

Could this be the year? Come and find out!! b**bs

  6. Hey Allen,

Thank you for the site info.....

  8. Hey all,

I'm just going to catch the bus for the Reading Spring Classic.....I have been a part of Steel City forever and the buzz and energy by all the corps members about performing in Reading is really a positive for my drumcorps.....I can't wait to play my 2 Bari parts for our many friends in Reading and the eastern Pennsylvania delegate chapter of the Steel City Ambassadors Alumni....Enjoy the show cause we are going to enjoy playing for "yunz"......

  9. Hey Walt,

I don't mean to step on anyones toes but Jerry Dunn (kingsman1) is getting older and has not played a horn for a couple three/five year and his fingers aren't working to well so that's why he posted his congrats twice-twice.....

P.S. I have been telling everyone here is Pittsburgh that I played the bari solo to Blue Bosa so please don't beat me up to bad....

    Love and Kisses

  10. Hey Walt,

My opinion on your time in grade as a drumcorps member only gets better with age/participation/commitment/and love for the activity....I have known Walter and his family for a few years now and as the saying goes.."Things get better with age" applies to Walter and his commitment to excellence within the music field.....My appreciation for a fellow member of Steel City only grows with his teachings and participation in a program that you love from start to finish....I tip my hat to Kathy for her tolerance and patience while gladly permitting her family members to travel the country to persue this crazy drumcorps addiction and the time she has devoted to her other family ....Walter Street is a true gentleman and scholar and there aren't many of us left....Have fun Walt, enjoy the experience with the Balance in Blue, I'll see "yunz" at the Spring Classic, and you owe me a beverage after the show....

    Yours in drumcorps...

  11. Hey Marty,

Steel City Ambassadors have been working very hard to present the most enjoyable program to their many fans within the drumcorps community.....A renewed committment by both management and members has helped the Ambassadors program move forward with energy and fulfillment of the corps 2007 goals....

The 2007 program will consist of:

    Black Saddles

    Land of Make Believe

    Children of Sanchez

    America

    All Night Long

    National Emblem

There may be a few suprises in personnel and presentation and the Steel City Ambassadors are working extremely hard for the drumcorps performance @ the Reading Spring Preview....

I personally am looking forward to seeing a few old friends within the ranks of the Bucs....

    Respectfully submitted by,
