If my memory serves me correctly, there was also a feature twirler from Ohio Brass Factory in the early 1980's.....Yes, Alan Smythe was certainly a showman and a mainstay entertainer for the Rochester Crusaders.....

Hey Nancy D,
Just for old time sakes....Erie could be listed under Excaliber but I know thats not true....Yankee Rebels if memory serves me correctly could be listed under the Hamilton Knights with the new start-up drumcorps from the Hamilton post.....

Hey John,
Foul, No Fair, your offering the free beer after the fact when you probably know that no one will be able to come up with a drumcorps from Ireland..... <**>
Ban this gentleman from the forum.....Unless he buys the pitchers... :P

I'll second the Chicago Connection drumcorps....I knew a couple members from that corps and I have a patch from Connection....

Hey John,
I think the closest you'll come to the motherland drumcorps is the Reilly Raiders from the Phila area....They have been playing Irish music for most of their existance and just returned to Ireland for a St. Patricks Day parade, I think in Dublin....The details are sketchy for me but I'm sure someone else will have details if you need them.....

For Mon Valley Express....Jeff, I was just adding comment to what the topic starter posted as non-competitive drumcorps.....
As far as G-Force is concerned, only Randy Kratifol can answer that question about a drumcorps in Jersey....
I just wish EVERYONE good luck for the 2007 season ...Competitive of Non-Competitive....Especially my friends in Pittsburgh.....

Hey all,
If memory serves me correctly, back in the 1970's the Cumberland Freestatesmen did a couple years of country music....I can't remember what music they played but I remember the snare drummers turning their drums upside down and playing the bottom strings like banjos....Some great memories from the past.... Wow, just looking at the list there are four (4) drumcorps from the Pittsburgh area and Randy Kratifol also had to take his trailer and move to Jersey.....Shame on us people, me included.....
Mon Valley
Allegheny Night Storm
Soundwave
Steel City Ambassadors
Maybe the fans in Pittsburgh are too concerned about Super Bowls than drumcorps.....
Just my $.02 worth....

Some of my fondest memories in drumcorps came in 1986 with the Steel City Ambassadors....A super bunch of people, a great staff, and one of my all time favorite drumcorps shows.....There was a lot of emotion on the finals field that evening after the scores were announced....Congrats to all the drumcorps that were @ DCA finals in 1986.....
P.S. I loved the Matadors show that year also.....

Hey All,
The Vigilantes were from the Pittsburgh area, east of the city in Versailles, Pa....
Just my $.02 worth....

Hey Jeff,
If I read the newspaper correctly, Gil Silva said "DCA is pleased to announce that negotiations are being conducted to bring back the "Barnum Festival" to the DCA schedule in 2007..The show held in Bridgeport, CT has a rich and storied history with DCA..We will have more news on this in the coming months"..(end quote from newspaper)
