Cavaliers did Rutter for several seasons in the '90's.

I would agree. My personal opinion would be to lean to the more "contemporary" choral writers. Rutter could translate very well and has a VAST grouping of works. Shaw might be a little "bland" for the field. When I read this my mind went to Whitacre almost immediately. I would be interested to see how "Leonardo dreams of his flying machine" could be scored for brass and percussion. It could certainly lead to some really creative guard moments.

...and check SCV 2012 and BDB 2016 for "Leonardo..."

  2. I'm 5 minutes away from Levi's. The latest issue to hit the airwaves is that the giant video screens are too bright for pilots when they fly near the stadium at night. It's in the general flight path for San Jose International.

Traffic hasn't been bad given the way the 49ers have been playing this season. I anticipate it'll be hell when the Super Bowl arrives in a couple months.

I would still love to walk to Finals from home.

  3. I took in some of the camp in March. The bits of "Pure Imagination" I caught aren't quite the tame version everyone knows.

    "Virus Attack" is pretty formidable.

When we arrived SCV was working on their ballad. A little Willy Wonka flavor. (Serious, but it works.) It's the tune- "Come with me, and you'll see, that the world"... (something like that)

I believe it was a Bari solo- a few feet away from the MIC, amazing effects.
