There's quite a bit of throwback in this show (makes sense if you're taking the show as a retrospective on the recent direction the Bluecoats have taken). The obvious blue/orange (and ramps) for Tilt, the counterpoint for Kinetic Noise, lots of Indian/Afro-Cuban stuff for Downside Up, the black/white vs color juxtaposition for Jagged Line. I don't see a connection to Session 44, maybe the latticework on the props could be said to be similar to the visual motives of S44.
I'm thinking the use of the female voice is a call back to Session 44.

The Bluecoatsest of all Bluecoats.
It's a bold statement and I think that the designers know exactly what they are trying to do here. It's not really a "Beatles show" after all. Like the title says it's really a show about The Bluecoats that uses the well known history. repertoire, and vibe of The Beatles to make a compelling analogy about the Bluecoats' impact on the marching world.
So many great ideas and moments from Bluecoats history are woven together in this show to remind fans of the marching arts that their stylistic, visual, and sonic innovations and bold explorations of new frontiers while maintaining audience appeal and accessibility to fans, like the Beatles in their time, have changed the game forever.
Wherever this show winds up on the sheets, I'm sure a great many fans will come together over this production!

Percussion book is very dynamic, and nuanced and definitely not as ostentatious as the lines in their tier. No ninja slams or ram and stomps as it wouldn't be musical in a jazz show. They're more like cool cats than viscous beasts. They'll need to really polish the clarity of musical intent to get those numbers where they'd like but the caption scores are still volatile and Bloo has topped both BAC and Cadets in perc (beat both last Monday) more than once. They may be quite the long shot for a Sanford, but I don't think they'll be a drag on the overall corps placement. I do hope there is some juicy perc bits included in the stuff they'll add in when they get to Little Rock!

Drumline sounds crispy playing this wonderful book from Tom Rarick (my favorite current battery arranger). One of my favorite visuals they do is the iconic Ringo goofy grin head bob as part of the opening drum solo (@:28 in this clip). They are really getting into some details with this show. I've found numerous little bits like this as I've watched some of the show clips. The Bluecoats is an amazing production!
