Star United was outstanding!

They played not only to the sheets (that reward excellence) but also to the packed audience and nailed it. I knew they had the title after the first 30 seconds :).

I was told by instructors that they used to practice falling down so they could practice recovery...this was referring to many years before I marched (fourteen years ago) then as well as today that concept seems insane and reckless to me.

Having trainers, doctors, winter/spring training seems smart and that is how it works now. Marching Music's Major League should include some Major talent and design.

I know this is an every year topic but its too bad MBI doesn't get a last weekend bump before going out East. They are a force this year and doing some amazing body work.

[Madison Scouts: fan base/alumni philosophy]

All the corps are good. Some of the design is better than others simply based on logistics and opinions are all valid.

As an alum I would like to see them place better and do some crazy things the top groups are doing. In my opinion props and singing and synth are all valuable when used to make the majority of the audience freak out...also makes those elements not gimmicks. I remember marching in the days of the Madison score announced and "booed" followed by standing ovations for us. Not that the reaction was PC but I will admit it was cool getting that ovation and multiple throughout the show almost every night.

I will continue to follow the corps and am excited to see them come out with announcements and light up these forums with positive feedback. Have a great "off season" Madison!!
