INT not for sale. It's a classic. Will return next season.

Real estate wanted:  Seeking large grass fields, office space, and storage space to serve as the dedicated rehearsal facilities and administrative offices of non-existent competitive drum and bugle corps.  Facilities must be secure, allowing no visitors ever.  Will consider real estate that's confirmed to be haunted.  No money available for transaction.

What are y'all smoking? They spell "hide" during their final movement, where they play Hide and Seek. Don't think too hard about this one.

They had the letters in "hide" reversed for a while.  I saw a recent video where they at least had the "h" flipped back forward.  The "i" still had a little curve in it, but the other two letters were cut off in the video, so I don't know if they changed those.

  3. Symbolism could be an important component of the show.  The opening pose by the two guard members on the DM platforms kind of resembles the Hanged Man...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hanged_Man_(Tarot_card)

Or maybe an upside-down version of the Vriksasana or yoga tree pose (some mythology attached to that).

The Blue Knights seem to be throwing in a lot of poses and hand gestures (maybe from things like mudras or other hand gestures seen in iconography of saints, etc).  Almost seems like you'd have to watch the show 150 times to see what every member is cramming into the thing.  I liked that it was visually busy when I saw the preview show (the eyes on the uniforms pretty much demand it) -- that element seemed a little scaled back at DATR, although it's possible the show was just cleaner, plus I was sitting further back on that viewing.

I mentioned part of this in another thread, but I noticed that their backward-lettered "hide" at the beginning of the closer connected up with one of the "i" props.  Reading backwards, that gives us "iedih."  (Or maybe "iedjh" since the "i" on the ground is curved.)

A search on "iedjh," with the j on the ground, turns up life path and numerology-related things like this...

    http://acronymsmeanings.com/full-meaning-of/iedjh/iedjh-stands-for-iedjh-means

"IEDJH has a life path of 9. IEDJH means: With a Life Path 9, your numbers are (9, 18/9, 27/9, 36/9). The Life Path 9 indicates that you entered this life with an abundance of dramatic feelings coupled with a strong sense of compassion and generosity. The key to the nature of a Life Path number 9 person is in their humanitarian attitude. Even the average possess extremely compassionate tendencies with life path 9. Usually this number produces a person who is very trustworthy and honorable, and can accommodate any kind of prejudice. Obviously this is a pretty tall order, but you are actually a person who for individuals less fortunate than yourself feel very deeply, and if you are able to help, sure. 9 is the highest of the single digit numbers, holds an elevated position with respect to the responsibility for mankind.  ..."

"What does IEDJH mean? This is a numerology analysis of the abbreviation. The meaning stands for ideals, knowledge, spirituality, altruism, selflessness, sensitivity, compassion and generosity.  Equally it is able to be a symbol of withdrawal, reflection, shyness and austerity. Representing intuition and spirituality. The esoteric meaning of this path is the divine spirit. In astrology it is related to the planet Mars and the signs of Capricorn and Scorpio. ..."

I mentioned part of this in another thread, but I noticed that their backward-lettered "hide" at the beginning of the closer connected up with one of the "i" props.  Reading backwards, that gives us "iedih."  (Or maybe "iedjh" since the "i" on the ground is curved.)  The first result I got from Googling was "Instituto de Estudos e Desenvolvimento Integral Humano."  (Or "Institute of Studies and Integral Human Development," if Google Translate is being accurate.)  Maybe that's where the first clue about the Blue Knights' show is being kept.  This could be something like a Dan Brown novel. :-)

Also, at the same point in the show, that same "i" prop is circled by those curved pieces of guard equipment in an "O" shape, which means the next clue is on Io. :-P  It may take us decades, or even centuries, to figure out the Blue Knights' show.

Totally possible.  (There's the death theme again.:-P )  I was just going in the other direction since the letters were backwards.

Also, the "i" on the ground had a little curve, like it might have been a backwards "j."

    "hjdei"

    "iedjh"

Terrific.  Now my little i/j observation is making me remember this clip. (Probably means nothing.)

Did they just spell 'hide' with a backward e?

I think all the letters were backwards, if I remember correctly from Saturday night at DATR.  Plus I think they did that next to one of the "i" props.

Which reminds me that I completely forgot to research whether or not "iedih" is any sort of meaningful word or acronym.  (Had to be awake for work on Sunday morning.)

  8. Ah -- so the Blue Knights' uniform needs to be more masculine?  Got it.  Maybe, halfway through the season, they could alter some of the uniforms to include a more masculine furrowed brow, or a steely Clint Eastwood-esque squint, or maybe have them be bloodshot with rage.  That'd work, right? :-P

  9. I was at the preview earlier.  Dayum!  The show already seems like it could be visually busier than last year's show, and they have more of it on the field.  I agree on previous comments made about the brass.  Looks and sounds like a stronger group than the year before.  (But isn't that always the case? :-P )  Not one for making predictions, but I don't see them dropping -- or if they do, it won't be very far.

Remember how the 2016 show ended with the guard member looking at that guy dressed in silver coming from the mirror? I have a feeling the 2017 show stemmed off of that image.

I can think of that and a few other "i"s from the 2016 show (which I personally liked a lot, BTW), so I'm leaning in the direction of this being a continuation of previous shows.  Whether it's an overt or silent sequel may depend on what and how much the organization, staff, and members say about it.

I'm interested by BK has on their announcement that the show can be seen in four venues this summer when, in fact, they are performing some 30 times this summer.

They will only be seen four times.  The rest of the performances will be "i"nvisible. :-)

How about a whole show based on 50years of Godzilla soundtracks with  a kazoo choir and a percussion feature of Hannah Montana music played backwards.....
