Comments on Colts' amplification aside, this is by far the best I've ever heard or seen the corps in the ten years I've been following the activity. Oz & Shot Rang Out as possible exceptions, but they have at least as much fire & drive as they did in those two shows. design is spotless and well thought out, top to bottom. Super pleased with where this corps is at.

I do agree with this. Amplification aside, wonderful show.

They’re the first I’ve heard today.

    It’s completely, absolutely, unnecessary.

So top 12 can use mics that sound terrible but when someone else tries to play the game with mics they get burned at the stake?

Wow, putting words in my mouth. You haven’t been paying attention. Brass amplification should go entirely. MAYBE an occasional wired mic for solos on concert-style instruments, but otherwise, nah.

  3. I did a little digging. The most recent comparable fall in score for Blue Knights was July 16th and July 18th, 2015. They dropped 1.5 points between Belton and the SW Championships. At Southwestern Championships in 2007, they dropped 2.6 points between prelims and finals (I didn't even know that show used to have those) on the same day.

So basically, it's been 11 years since BK has had a score drop of this magnitude between two back-to-back shows.

Holy ####, almost a two & a half point drop in score for BK.

Well, yeah, pretty much expected. Last night they were the top corps among about 8 or so; everyone else was at or below their tier. Tonight, by contrast, everyone else was at or above their tier, and -- with the appropriate nod to Music City -- they were first among that group to perform tonight. Last night they had nothing blue sky above. Tonight they had the weight of the top 7 corps above them. A drop was to be expected.

Expected, yes, but I don’t think BK has had a point drop that severe in years. They’ve had almost constant upward trajectory since I started following the activity again in 2014.
