You've managed to throw disgusting on top of obnoxious. Nice job Chaos.
As for your witch hunt. Nobody give's a rat's butt what you really think about "Lord F" anyway. ##### all you want behind a keyboard... If it makes you feel powerful. Frankly, I think you need more help than the Regiment.
? I'm not chaos, and to be honest we didn't particularly get along when we marched together, let alone should I be grouped in with him.
Could it be that, SHOCKING I KNOW, there is a pretty large contingent of Regiment alum pretty displeased with the direction of their alma mater and they crave more?

Since this thread has pretty much become the new Phantom 2015 thread.
Any news on that ending? New music/drill? Power Wedge?? Chevron?? More halt kicks?? Eager to see it! :)
Or maybe my questions are off-topic.
The group, on a whole has gotten a lot better over the course of the season.
Lots of good changes, so far.
All commentary aside, I bet we see a new ending this weekend.

More turnover so you can continue to b*tch about how bad you think the organization is at retaining staff? Give me a break.
....I've never said a word about staff retention.
edit: I don't even think the turnover has been bad, really.
-
This thread in general is unnecessary. Phantom will be fine, no matter how much these guys want them to fail.
There is that nonsense again.
I would like Phantom Regiment to succeed. In fact, the only indication I've ever given in ever wanting them to fail, even a little, is just so the organization has some turnover at the top and can be lifted to newer heights and standards.
The activity NEEDS PHANTOM REGIMENT, and they need her to be GOOD.

This is quickly reminding me of another drum corps forum and the few people that ruined that as well with their personal vendettas.
Not to urinate in your regiment colored kool-aid.... but, you realize that that's false, right?
That forum failed because it used an increasingly obsolete mode of delivery.
It really had nothing to do with the number of trolls, good posters, or otherwise. Regardless of what any of the proctors of that service tell you, if you don't adapt, you die.
Actually, come to think of it... that forum is a lot like Regiment.

With that type of staff flux, there is a significant problem in the head office at phantom. Four drill writers, four brass caption heads, three battery writers, and 5 color guard caption heads? That is CRAZY turn over.
WHAT!? That's not possible. The sunshine puffers say that's not possible.
We all know and have heard so many awesome stories about what a delight that Lord F is to work with.

Moving & playing... simultaneous responsibilities.
That is correct.
You almost win a cookie.
That has nothing to do with visual proficiency or content.

I'm gone for a little bit and see we've progressed into the, "my child is doing it so it must be special and awesome there, no matter what." phase of discussion.

Ya, if you say so..snicker.....
Come on, it isn't like it is Marie. Debbie doesn't have it out for Regiment. She's just finally taking a stand for some of the messes right now on field.
-
Well, at least Debbie Torchia called it like she saw it.

I can say so much, but it would seem like a slight to front ensemble members. I genuinely believe, for a wide variety of reasons, that being a marching member is a more fulfilling summer, than being in the front ensemble.
That said, there is something for everyone in this activity.

My post was tongue in cheek.
I have judged in years gone by before the very civilized critiques we have today........usually occurring across a lap top and not just nose to nose. Some of what judges hear as explanations are quite the stretch...
On the flip side, plenty of what judges hear is accurate, but they are woefully under qualified and don't understand what designers mean.
A couple visual analysis judges who have the qualifications less than that of a DCP poster, come to mind.

I see. I'm not privy to what goes on there with the Troopers, so I'll accept what you are telling me. Troop did move from 18th to 13th from 2012 to 2013, and thats a one year jump up in placements that is almost unheard of these days in DCI. It does happen, but my Lord, its exceedingly rare these days now.
Basically, the Troopers seem locked into 12th- 16th most seasons( sort of like SCV for 4th-6th, these days now ). No matter where Troopers finish however, most years I really dig their show. So as an outsider, thats what most interests me when it comes to the Troopers.
I think the General's point is that they have different expectations than we do.
If you are promised the world, but only given New Jersey, even though you've been given an entire state, you're still underwhelmed.
-
The word "aesthetic" appears in the visual analysis caption and encompasses uniform, guard uniform, and flag choices.
So yes, uniforms are judged.

Also, coming back to this for a second. How odd is it that people are more offended by the way Academy's drumline acts in a drumline battle than their ridiculous show theme that reinforces every marching band stereotype in the world.
-
Apparently judges are giving it credit?
However, now that we "get it" - that the corps is visiting Champs Elysses and so on - can the corps remove it and expect judges to still give them credit?
Where are you under the impression that the judges give them credit for it?
Also, have any of the decisions made recently been the result of judging credit, or more, "hey, this used to work a long time ago, so we'll do it now."?
-
Troopers seemed a bit flat last night. They do not march well at all. I hope they spend some time on visual. Clean it up and it will happen.
YES. So many of the things going on in that organization are awesome right now. Having the current visual staff, with almost zero teaching pedigree compared to team DVD on brass, Team Paul, and CB running guard--- it is no surprise the visual team is what is behind.
-
Lots of hype trains this year
Looks like the Troopers one finally met its expected fate all along.
-
You're correct about them being 6th at 99 semis.... But they finished 6th in 2000 in finals. Boston got a lot of press that year finishing 5th, but BK had the 3rd place Drumline in 00 as well
Dem 4 basses killed everyone!
-
That is bush league. Scouts have always been classy & respectful. Too bad more corp directors don't instill this in their members.
Other groups are too busy trying to be actually good, instead of holding on to outdated militaristic ties.

Wow.... the first SCV was 12 comments in. That's cray.
-
Phantom (which they'll definitely do) before we start that discussion.
I'd like that, but I don't see that happening with as much certainty as you seem to have.
-
Where I want BK to end up and where BK will end up are two different things.
I think they may be undervalued a bit this year.
That said, they won't go above 6th.

I had Chipotle for lunch.
Perfect! Now, you have to write a post about judging the activity from an entirely different perspective than it is viewed from, with expensive equipment.
Add some talk of Priuses and San Francisco, plus that new product called "Chipotl-away" and you're good to go.

How High will Regiment Rise?!

Regiment passes no one in their neighborhood, but merits a thread like this? LOL
Regiment couldn't beat Cavies when they were practically the walking dead and even full of holes.
