Bluecoats- 2014
Carolina Crown- 2013
Blue Devils- 2003
Cavaliers- 2002 or 2006, way too hard to decide
SCV- 1999 or 1989, also too hard
Phantom Regiment- 1989 or 2008, hate to be indecisive again, but why should I have to choose between such amazing shows
Cadets- 2011 or 2000

Not sure I agree. And visual proficiency judge pays attention to that too.
But you could argue that how well the two percussion sections work as a whole is also judged in music analysis. Sometimes its hard for an on field brass judge to judge the whole brass when shows are as spread out as they are now, however similar to what you said with visual how together the brass is is judged by the music analysis judge, so why couldn't percussion be the same way?

The ironic thing, Brasso, is their drumline is better than the 2013 line by miles. It's just SCV, BD, Bloo, and the Cadets were just plain SICK! Hard to overcome that level of greatness.
The top 4 drumlines are absolutely incredible every year. That's what DCI drumlines are, so even if crown's line does get better, the other four lines that you named are going to get better and be just as good. I don't see crown's percussion scoring higher than those four next year, no matter how improved Crown's line is from their championship year, or even this past year.

Oh I know. I just disagree that Kinetic Noise was anything like Tilt.
It was like tilt in the fact that it had quite a few electronic effects and had some obscure music repertoire, but other than that I find that the similarities tend to disappear. But then again there's a slim line between having a show that has the corps' sound and having a show that almost seems like the same thing.

I think the Bluecoats have a dang good chance at the gold next year. This year showed that they can put out consistent medal shows and will be around to stay at the top. It just takes a little bit more.
I'm excited to see what Blue Knights does and how hot they can stay. I won't say it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped up again next year.
The Academy had such an entertaining and awesome show this year, and I would like too see them in finals within the next 3-5 years. Looking forward to their product next year.

It can happen to anyone. Crown was a couple tenths away from falling to third on Finals night.
It appears Bluecoats have spectacular runs and perform their very best (not saying that other corps don't, just Bluecoats has seemed to get a little bit more) on Finals Night, they've sure been on fire the past two years.

Bluecoats-won me over again with a beautiful show and goosebump inducing ballad
Blue Devils-loved it all from a storytelling and theatrical perspective. Their brass line gives me chills
Blue Knights-awesome show, top 6 finish
Santa Clara Vanguard-pure imagination
The Academy-plain out entertaining and fun
I can't leave Cascades off either, they put out what I would say is their best program in quite a while.

I have (had) the $99 DCI live package. During the streaming season, I watched every performance by Blue Devils, and most of everyone's every performance. Last night, I felt I was watching INK for the first time. Suddenly I was watching INK, but seeing it with a Felliniesque tint........ that corps morphed before me........ such passion.....even in the faces !!!!
I absolutely LOVED Ink! I felt the story at such an emotional level and it was all so fresh and amazing!! That's what I feel a big part of GE is. How fresh and new the show feels even if it's your second or fifth or twentieth time seeing it.

Are crossmen trying to make semifinals penalties that almost keep them out of finals a tradition or something?

Seriously? I'd LOVE for a finals week surprise!
Congrats tonight! Gotta be a HUGE momentum boost going into Thusday! Regardless of where it finishes, this is a revolutionary, fresh, amazing show that will be talked about long after the scores are forgotten. It's been a blast this year, finish out with a bang! #BRINGTHENOISEBLOO!!!!!!
Sorry I have no idea... just meaning cleaning wise. But man I would love a finals week surprise too!!!!!!

I personally think the uniforms work out really well for this show. While I would hate a long departure from the traditional uniforms we love, I don't mind the change to black for just a year to accent the show and theme. I still would hate for them to do this year after year like crown. I love Cadets traditional uniform, and I really miss the old look of the Crown uniforms. I liked the E=mc2 uniforms, but I wish they would have gone back to their old uniforms after that.

There's just a few finishing touches to put on. Some final bits of cleaning and this whole thing could be Bloo's! Come on Bloo! You can do it!!!!!

Way to go Bloo!!!!!!!!! Keep on climbing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't expecting Crossmen to jump Boston.

We may see a prime example this year with Bluecoats if they come up short.
Which way? Championship design with not as good performance or vice versa?

Bluecoats return home to OHIO and BREAK 90!!!!!!!
I sure hope so!!! I still feel like they have the potential to do something amazing and unprecedented. Come on Bloo!!!!

I'm not sure how many people were actually saying Crown had no chance. For a while it did seem Crown was destined for 3rd or 4th. But that's why they compete and practice and make changes. Crown deserves all the credit in the world because they have made the right changes (seemingly, although I still prefer a direct impact in Dies Irae without the sub-set rotations in the triangle before the hit). They have added slowly, and cleaned, and added a bit more, and cleaned, and finally added more to the end. To this point I believe they and the Cadets have made the most effective changes. How the judges score it is another thing. But I didn't see a lot of people ruling Crown out. It's just that for a while it did look like Cadets and BD were the favs, and they were -- for a while. Now the plot thickens.
Hoping Bluecoats can thicken that pot even more. :)
Well the day before San Antonio Crown was still in 4th. So you never know what the Bluecoats could do!!!

If Blue Devils end up taking first and Crown gets second at finals I have a feeling this is gonna be like 2012 all over again. We had all the Crownies complaining about the judging sucks and how much better Crown's show was then BD. Not saying I have a thing against Crown or their fans, but that's how it all seemed to go down.
-
Really hard to see Crown falling at home performing last. I could see Cadets passing BD or even Bloo pass Cadets (wishful thinking from a Bluecoats homer perhaps). And it's possible for Scouts to maybe pass Phantom. Every night has been so much more interesting this year, and I have to say I do love it.

The thing is, we don't know whether SCV or Bluecoats are in front. It's virtually a tie right now.
I would say Bluecoats are just a little ahead because SCV hasn't beat them yet this season, but we'll all see tonight.

The whole opening leading up to the first impact is absolutely awe-inspiring! Definitely my favorite part. I also really love the final moments of the drum break leading up to the first notes of dense in the closer. And all of woods is divine.

I can't explain how excited I am to see this show come finals!!!!! Just clean a few spots that need it and add in those last few details and the corps will soar!!! KEEP ON GOING BLOO!!!!!!

I think positions and captions flip flopping night to night is going to be the norm over the next 4 weeks. Personally, I love it.
I completely agree. It makes the competition so much more interesting if things shake up and are affected more by the performance night to night.

Thats the story of the nite... all the people writing Phantom off as a Corps bound for the 9th-10th tier.
I'm not writing them off, so to speak... I just found that score interesting.

I'd say they're following their formula, but they've taken the formula to a whole new level. I consistently enjoy their use of props and the way the incorporate them into their shows. This show feels really fresh to me. I'm excited to see where it goes.
