Good call on 83 27th, but if we're talking 83 I have to bring up Suncoast Sound. Excitement and intensity from beginning to end with a horn line that just wouldn't quit. Looking back on it I'd have to say that is one of my personal favorite shows to listen to. Opened with a wicked jazz number (Time Out), slowed things down a bit with a very cool version of Spanish Gypsy, a fun drum solo (named Casino I think), the best arrangement of Aquarius I'd ever heard (IMO better than 84 because they didn't get caught up with the whole "message" thing) and a beautiful rendition of "Greatest Love Of All". What a show! Not to sound too much like an "old-timer", but I really wish Corps would come out with shows like that again. It seems like every time I see a show these days, nobody ever just plays a song without it sounding like some sort of medley. Oh well, I guess some people call that "progress". All I can say is thank god for CD's. Rich
