  1. It's not that people want Spirit to fail. I marched for the Colts in the past, and while people didn't want us to fail. We didn't really feel a lot of love coming from the community. It had nothing to do with how people liked us, but we were changing as a corps. This took several years to adjust to, and now people are starting to get it. I too believe that Spirit has been redefining who they are in the past couple of years, and in they are not quite as competitive as they have been. Don't worry, Spirit is still a great corps that provides a wonderful experience to their members on and off of the field.

  2. I believe that there are enough people in the C. Ar. area to make a corps here successful. It will all depend on the support. A lot of people argued that Delta Brigade was not supported enough by the area. However, after talking with people involved, poor management had a lot to do with it. Maybe the area wouldn't support a top 12 DCI corps, but I believe that it could support an all age corps on some level, and I'm all about trying to find out.

I would still like to talk to anyone in the area. If you are interested you can pm or email me: dross20@gmail.com I have a couple of fund raising ideas that could provide some initial start up money. I just need people.

  3. Having a competing corps on the field at any level, DCI or DCA would be fantastic. However, I'm more realistic than that. If I can find even a small group of enthusiastic people to march a 20 or so member hornline then I would consider that a success.

To field a full drum corps there would have to be busses, trucks, souvies, piles of instruments, sick amounts of money, tons of support, etc, etc.

Lets try to grasp small concepts first. I'll start this post over.

Hello All. I'm looking for people in the Central Arkansas area or surrounding areas who would like to join me in the task of fielding a small parade corps. I'm not opposed to growing into a field unit, but until a solid infrastructure is in place let's start small. The first task would be to aquire enough horns for a small brass ensemble. This ensemble would do parades in Arkansas. The members would be responsible for transportation, a member T-shirt and hat, and be available for rehearsals. All like minded individuals should post here, pm me, or email me: dross20@gmail.com

This is very much a family activity, If you or your childredn would like to be involved then great! It would be a fantastic experience to march as a family.

  4. I remember Kevin actually came to a couple of show in 2003 before he filled a contra spot. Yes little kevin marched contra for the second half of the Colts 2003 season. He's a freakin' BEAST. He was fun to tour with. I remember in his first show in Saline Kansas he almost missed the last set (nevermind the fact that he learned the entire show in 3 days on the contra) and felt horrible for it. I remember patting him on the back and congratulating him for accomplishing something that few other people could do.

  5. Hey, not cool. Everytime someone said the word in 03 something bad happened to me. My heart almost failed once, I got sun poisoning in my head, and it swole up with fluids, and then I was knocked off my podium by a water sprinkler.

    SO QUIT SAYING THE WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or atleast put me in a padded room surrounded by a nuclear bunker for 24 hours.

  6. I've just returned from ten days on tour volunteering with the Colts. The Post Cards are obvously in. However, only the side of the post card with the picture. Look in the next few days for them to show the side of the card with the correspondance. The show will then be tied together with the story line. Also, kudos go the the Colts staff for the countless hours of work put in over the last couple of weeks in the manufacturing of the props.

  7. Hey Colts, especially the 03 group. I just wanted to say good luck this season, and I wish I could be there with you. You guys are all incredible and I'm proud to have marched with each and every one of you. Some of the best and worst moments of my life were with you, and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. One of the last things I remember hearing before stepping out on Semifinals night was one of the staff members yelling "For those of you waiting for the last second, it's hear". For some reason I can't get those words out of my head. Remember that each second that goes by this summer is one less that you are going to spend with those special people that you call your corpsmates. Cherish it.

    Good Luck,

    Dilan Ross
