My understanding is the big event will be Thursday night after the sun goes now. Oh what a beautiful night it will be.

George Hopkins is recording live on FaceBook. Pretty cool.
Cool to see the kids in BD and Cadets interacting.

Great performance... still don't groove on the theme. And could someone please tell Rondo we don't need a running commentary on everybody?
He's probably practicing for the theater event.

What username had the scope? I wanna see!
Not sure. Corpscopes shared it. I think it has since disappeared.

According to someone in the NightBEAT thread, there is indeed a Crown set
Yep, I saw a periscope of it this afternoon. Corpscopes shared it, but I think it has since disappeared.

I'm hearing Crown won brass and guard last night, 3rd in percussion. That's fantastic.
From reddit: percussion looked like this for the top 6:
1 - Bluecoats 2 - SCV 3 - Cadets 4 - Blue Devils 5 - Crown 6 - Cavies
-
Saw a periscope of Crown's new closer earlier. It's a Crown. Surprise. Not sure when they are putting it in though. They do it right before a company front and the carriage moves further into the end zone.

Anyone have access to high or multicam from last night for a quick watch by the elders? Please PM me.

And they need to bring that percussion battery out from behind everyone so they can shine.

And for those talking about the lamp lady in blue stars show earlier. At the beginning of the season, 2 people traded each night the lamp spot and a regular guard spot. The member that does it now hurt her wrist and this allows her to continue performing with the group.
That's great that they found a way for her to perform with the injury!

Many soloists sound flat on the live broadcast. Is that a technical issue or does it sound like that in the dome too?
-
I think of Bluecoats as more trying to be Madison Scouts of yore than BD of any era. Slides aside, this is a classic Madison show.
I agree. Really dug videos of Madison in the past before they were taken away.

So tonight DCI staff didn't post the musical program graphic at all for The Cadets, but they did for every single other group since 1:30PM. (I guess that's better than posting Crown's like they did last night.) Pattern continues.

Yes - the guard is striking in those costumes!

Lots of great moments in this show. Thanks for the multicam tip. Love the flugel.

Trumpets sound great on that little soli part

The mirror things on their uniforms look cool.

You mean like blue devils do?
I'm not trying to be mean, really I'm not, but it is discouraging and concerning to me how adamantly some of the hard core cadets guys are defending the status quo. It's not my place to say what cadets should aspire to, in any area, but I don't get why the second most awarded corps in drum corps history is willing to sit through so many gut wrenching seasons.
Maybe I don't have enough experience in drum corps culture to know how these things are playing out behind the scenes, but as an outsider it sure looks like an emotional disaster zone.
Is your definition of a gut wrenching season one where they don't win gold?

That has a little bluecoats flavor

They appear to be in the end zone. Easy to ignore if you don't want to look at them.
