Mixed feelings about last night. I think a few come from my choice of the Multi-Cam view. The director definitely did not know where to look and when!
I am liking the evolving story of the statues. I am not sure if there can be much emotional payoff, at least statue-wise. GH says there is a 'real ending to the story' to come. But, I will be quite happy to get a musical and drill-induced emotional payoff! (I know there have been a lot of derisive comments about the 2015 'TEN' here....but, darn if that music and marching at the end didn't get me!).
Last night, I thought the last half was a bit of a mess. Jumpy, abrupt...and pieces not quite fitting together. Kind of like pounding the square peg into the round hole on my old toy hammering set.
I am confident that we will get a great show come Finals week. But, I hope they can settle on a clear direction soon so that the kids can get clean and gain confidence in each step and every note. Only then can they really sell the emotion.
