During the Flo broadcast on the 18th, a poster mentioned that some of the issues might be at our end and you needed around 40MB.   We don't have that much horse power so I scheduled a tech for today.  They just left and said we should not have any issues.  Our "capabilities are fine", our "DL numbers are OK", "plenty of bandwidth", etc.  They said that Flo might not be steaming enough bandwidth,  the site could be overloaded, or the hosting facility might have issues.  Not having a clue what this all means, I just hope all is well for everyone tonight, because if you all start typing about internet and computer geek stuff, it will be Advil time.

Considering some people are reporting a flawless performance from Flo tonight, sounds like something on your end, otherwise it would have affected others too

Then I still have no clue.  Messages have been sent to Flo and internet provider.

I had several freezes and disconnects here, as well as the eighth note audio delay. Maybe the pulled out of the second show to get this one right. It was the least awful of the flo crap so far, but then again, I am up in canada with satellitte internet and a VPN, so I am lucky to get it period! With the voice overs hardly audible, I enjoyed the brass lines. Crown and Crusaders for sure.

Yes. George Hopkins is certainly a controversial figure in DCI, but to his credit, he made an important and timely outreach to the Univ. of Mississippi at a critical time in the Cadets history when they were literally on the ropes, and not sure if they'd be able to continue on. Membership in his Corps was at unprecedented low numbers, but his personal visit down to the Univ. of Mississippi resulted in his securing about a dozen of more marchers from this University's MB to come to the Cadets and march in their Corps. That was definitely one of GH's shining moments, and he deserves all the credit in the world for proactively acting in an efficient manner to save the Cadets from possibly going under in the 1980-1981 time frame. 3 years later ( 1984) the Cadets won themselves a DCI Title.... and as you said, Fran, the rest is history.

I believe it was 83 that they begun their zingali run winning streak

The website was updated since I last had a look. Cool:)

Edit: One of the DOCA members was from Seneca Princemen. Collaboration is good.

Yup, just got back from their rehearsal, they got a new music director and arranger, both okies alumni, my brother da as director, and myself as arranger. Great sounding group. Joel is still da boss, though  attracting some non drum corps players and younger folks too

I've long claimed that Joel Alleyne of Etobicoke Oakland Crusaders (DCI Worlds Finalist 1975-1977) was the best and most crowd-oriented drum major I've ever seen. I've written such in a column I do for another website.

Couldn't agree with you more. Joel was a show all by himself and had absolute control over his corps.

He also was DM for Delasalle a couple years too!
