The Yea tax return shows a mission statement of:

$175,850 Is that GH salary or is that all "executive compensation" for Yea!?

DCI's first task when reassembling to address what has happened with the Cadets is to appoint an ombudsman to which any corps member can report alleged abuse by someone on the corps staff. Each corps, of course, should have the same position, but allowing someone completely outside the corps to be "in the know" from the start will be a second layer of protection/investigation. More importantly, though, it will further discourage the types of behaviors that GH has allegedly committed.

Yes, I joined recently because I see THIS issue is serious... we could argue all day about amps or no amps, 2 or 3 valves... but this involves everyone. I love drum corps and don't want to see it vanish or be vanquished. My point is that actions by corps are going to be under so much more scrutiny than before, not just by DCI or the directors, but by parents, spectators, community members, sponsors. Everyone involved should think before acting... is this the image I want to represent our activity?

The focus is on George Hopkins and the Cadets at the moment, but digging deeper, why wouldn't we also look at corps like Carolina Crown -their entire centerpiece was Roxanne, where they dressed the guard as prostitutes, even feigning a sex scene on the table as the stagecoach passed by just in time to leave a little bit to the imagination. Is it possible that the show themes themselves are part of the issue.. promoting a culture where inappropriate behaviors are condoned by staff members? Look at Crown's trumpet section from 2016, the Roxanne year... singing some pretty lewd lyrics in Military Park. It seems well-rehearsed, meaning it was probably done many times over the season and deemed OK by staff members? If we say, "Oh well, that's just how they get hyped up." OK, so there is no other way to do this than by shouting out, "me so horny"? George may be bearing the brunt of this at the moment, but it is going to be up to all of us to take a closer look at what type of image we want corps and DCI to carry forward.

Yes, according to page 8, Hopkins salary for 2015 was $175,850.
