To me Crowns show is not on the same design level as Boston. Frankly I’m not convinced there’s that big of a gap musically between the two either. IMO visual, GE and guard are head and shoulders higher than Crown. Do any of you feel that DCI is propping Crown up too?
I don’t know what else Boston has to do. I agree with your comment to a certain extent.
IMO - Boston and the Bluecoats have the memorable shows this year.

Not only can BD bring it musically, they do this while marching. This might present a challenge for Bloo moving forward. I guess we’ll see shortly.
Great performances by all. The best part is that Flo Marching did not have a meltdown.

Excited to see BD. Let’s see if the can squeeze the vise down on Bloo.

I really like this Bloo show, but I really was hoping to love it. Huge Beatles fan. It doesn’t quite get there for me.
Go see it live. You'll change your mind. 🙂
I did...it did not change my mind. It’s too bad Bloo believes they have to that amplified.
That’s what ruined it for me.

I really like Boston except for the hokey BOA vocals...and the college band drill...
It probably sounded like a good idea on paper at the time.
Agreed, the vocals are very wgi, and some of the drill is a little blah (most is very good though).
Unlike a lot of corps this year, BAC actually has tough drill. Anyone can stand in place and play big moments. As I watch Bloo, a lot stop and play, walk marching. But they do sound amazing.

Cavies 7 snares - must have lost 1 or 2. Can't remember how many they had to be begin with.
Been 7 all season.
7 snares certainly helps with playing clean and scoring.

I dig the edginess of The Crossman. Did any one spot Bones?

Just wait and be patient.
I spoke with a snare vet after the Pittsburgh show and he stated that the battery is where they’re at right now similar to last year with respect to playing quality. He was not alarmed as some seem to be.
This by far, and only based on what I’ve heard, is the toughest book on tour this year.
I would not change anything. When it comes together, all I can say is watch out. Backfilling the forth quad will help too.
Colin is a genius. In Colin we all trust.

First time seeing the Blue Coats live. Great music but way too amplified. I couldn’t hear the battery at all. Overall solid performance.

in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Posted
All I hear are crickets chirping about this post from last night. Is it mandatory for a corps to warm up at Military Park?... Because Blue Devils brass didn’t apparently. And if not, why then is it mandatory to be contained in a certain area there? A kind word to BAC about moving their brass a bit would have been appreciated rather than taking a picture and reporting the infraction to DCI.
