No. I didn't say anything of the sort.
I am saying that amp placement and mix is designed for stadiums with people and not for Flo mic pickups... which is why it is often drastically different from corps to corps on the Internet stream (the amps are placed differently to the static stream mics).
The result is that what you hear on the stream may not be (and most likely never is) like the mix live.
That was the main topic of discussion in that thread.
And I'm saying that when I saw that show live, I exclaimed "Good lord that synth is too loud." and tonight watching it on Flo, I exclaimed "Good lord that synth is too loud."

I'll give the Flo multi cam this bit of propers...it's so nice to see the kids having a freaking BALL on the field.

That's not true. We devoted a thread to this weeks ago.
You're saying you can't hear it live? What is the point of playing it if you can't hear it live?
I saw them live and I heard it.

Are you watching on Flo? If you aren't live then there is no way to critique the electronic levels.
If you can hear it dominating on Flo, you can hear it live.

That Bluecoats show is aging fast for me.

I saw it in Pasadena and it was too #### much then, too.

Barry Manilow.

I may be an old curmudgeon but I loved that Scouts show.
And I've been wanting a good One Voice closer since 1986.

Yech, the violin.

I like Bluecoats color scheme. Thats about it.
Hate the slow start. Hate the pre-records and the singing. Cold on the Beatles. It's just "ok' to me.

Luscious brass tones there, Cadets.
That "Do Better" thing is...awful.

Blue Stars.
Liked that they used so much of the field.
Sassy brass.
Lost the thread of the story halfway through though.

If between Bluecoats and BD, what influences your pick?

The OP question is WHAT influences your pick.
BD, electric violin notwithstanding, presents an intelligent and fascinating blend of progress and tradition in this show. The Bluecoats are leaning too heavily on accessibility for me. There's too much setup to recorded music for my taste. It's more of a "Beatles on Ice" show and not so much a drum and bugle corps show.
