Way to go BK color guard. Achieving
Agreed. I had a friend working with them this summer, and he said they were really really struggling with keeping up morale. It looks like they found a spark at the right time, and I'm happy to see it! Very good run, they might just make this.

I really really like how this BK show starts out. Love the atmosphere setting and the intensity build to the hit. VERY BK. I love moody pit moments. SCV, BK and Crown do this a lot. The BD Pit opening to Felliniesque was the best executed of this sorta style IMO.

Sad. Rain has sure been a spoiler this year. Disappointing for all Bloo alumni and fans. Oh well on to Thursday! Can't wait!
The rain seems to be falling in all the wrong places across the continent given all of the droughts

God, I wish…1988 was the year that I experienced my first live shows…SCV Phantom (ver.1), cavvies, BD….and the the most clutch performance I have ever seen live…(my respect to PR 2008…did not see live)…arguably the best 5 minutes in DCI history?
I had to ask!
All I can base 80s-2000s shows off is what I see and hear from a video. The late 80s in drum corps just have an aura to them as I've gathered.

Been a GuardFather for 8 years now, and would not miss it for the world. Thanks you!
By chance, given you username, did you march 88 Scouts? If so, do you remember a Chris Smith? Mellophone? He was my college Horn professor. Such a friendly and wise teacher!

I don't think The Cadets can catch SCV, but they were only 1.35 behind tonight.
that would be the success story of the season besides Boston's very intimidating production. Could you imagine a surge to 5th for the Cadets?

My daughter is part of the Bloo guard this season, and she just texted that that was the coolest thing she has ever been associated with….Indeed.
I love that so much for her, and I hope she returns if she is able to next summer! Good on you dad/mom for giving her the opportunity to experience such a great sport.

I can't stop listening to Autumn Leaves and Pants I'm so so jealous of everyone that stuck it out to watch them. I'd be ugly crying if I were there.

I'm honestly surprised no one's started a corps called something stupid like "Red Angels" or "Green Devils" just to troll BD
There used to be a corps like that. Called the Velvet Knights.

They’re changing their primary color to blue.
Did I get it right? The uniforms they have this year reek of the fabulous couturier Blue Devils uses. It’s a green Blue Devils uniform 😅

What has me peeved is announcing a photo collage so late in the game. I have so much historical stuff…ticket stub and participant pass from the first DCI. Newspaper articles. But I’d have to dig it out, scan it, send it…I’m not going to do that now. Thos should have been done months ago.
Right, that should have been done PRE season. I know so many people would want to send in photos of their experiences. It's an amazing idea, I want to see it as well! Just a major whoopie cushion decision.

Vanguard is very good. They catch me at the end. I'm not really wow'd by it other than the very obvious talent across all captions.

Someone mentioned it earlier but it's an absolute joke DCI decided to release an app a week before the season's end

So wait — are the primary prop movers for blue stars strictly there as prop movers/dancers? Definitely makes sense for a show with quite a few props that have to be moved constantly, but was just wondering.
I don't know about this Blue Stars show, but I know there have been members in previous other corps shows that were there specifically to be a prop mover/some guard work here and there. The backflipper in 2018 SCV for example. I know him personally, he said he was a behind the scenes character more than anything for the show.

I think BS has the most mature brass arrangement of the year. I feel the writing is definitely trying to speak to you to convey the story.

I'm overjoyed at the success of Cadets but sometimes I wonder how it's not BS consistently in 6th. This show is just really well done.
