  1. Can anyone figure out how much of today's tour fees are inflation??

It'd be really interesting to see the rate of inflation. For comparision, this year to march I am paying about $1500 for dues and food, $40 dollars a camp for 7 months ($280), uniform parts for $85, and find 20 sponsors for a car wash or donate $170. So assuming I find 20 sponsors for a car wash so I don't have to donate the extra 170, that's $1865. Start adding driving costs and summer spending money and it's easy to look around the $2500 mark for the season. Anyways, I don't know how to figure out inflation, anyone able to help?

  2. I'm marching Contra with Colts this year and so far I can say Contra is easier to hold then Euph or Bari. Only two things are roughin the beginning: Keeping your left hand on the higher tubing instead of letting it slip down to the lower stuff and standing at attention.

  3. I think Boston should do a show called "THE POWER OF THE ELBOWS" where the key element of effect comes from their massive, pointy, powerful, and most certainly parallel to the ground elbows. I think that would be far more interesting than some show about color. you could keep all the same original music and drill as you are doing for the show, just rename it "THE POWER OF THE ELBOWS" and rewrite the program notes to coincide with such.

    example.

The fiery first movement portrays the aggresive nature and Latin feel of the ELBOWS, while the second movement contemplates the loneliness inherent in having such POWERFUL ELBOWS. The third and final movement depicts the violent and thrashing motion of the ELBOWS OF POWER at work and play. Keep your eyes open for retreat or you will miss the ELBOWS ON THE PROWL. LONG LIVE THE ELBOWS. LONG LIVE THE BOSTON CRUSADERS!

    ^Funniest thing I've read in quite awhile^

  4. I'm auditioning for three corps to find where I'm the most comfortable. I know alot don't agree with this so don't bash me for it please... we all do things differently.

So, here's where I'll be auditioning:

    The Cavaliers

    The Colts

    Pioneer

Yeah... big difference between all of them I'm sure but It's not where you march, it's that you march and I wanna be comfortable with the people I'm marching with. :D

Nothing wrong with trying out for different corps, every corps is unique!

  5. i'm suprised no one has mentioned SCV2000!  That was my favorite ballad i think of all time.

I totally agree. I saw that show live many times in 2000. I cried atleast half a dozen times during the ballad. We played in in MBI this year and once again it brought back tons of emotions.
