  1. Have you reported these infractions?

I have sometimes felt some bias in the mod area, and possibly there was some, but in general I think they can only address what people report. They have jobs, lives, etc beyond DCP. So, if you feel this way, start hitting the report button more and you may notice more action.

    Yes.

  2. So I had some of my posts deleted, and rightfully so, I didn't follow this rule.

"You may not make personal attacks on other Community members or non-members. Harassment of other members is not allowed. Flame-bait, trolling or flaming posts will be edited or removed, and action may be taken against the author. Issues and posts directed at a single member should be handled via our built-in Private Messenger feature. "

But what I find great is that people come on here, attack thirdcoast with negative comments, and get away with it.

Also, we can have 1,000 threads about the Cavaliers corps song, or multiple threads on the same subject, and our "moderators" just let it go.

We also get to see threads that make fun of the Madison Scouts, Pioneer, Cadets, or George Hopkins turn in to all out battles about right and wrong, yet if the thread were to be negative about the Cavaliers, Blue Devils, SCV, or Bluecoats, the thing would be closed immediately.

But what's about to be great, is this thread will get closed, and before it does there will be a few useless posts about

"getting in before closed" or "your so wrong man."

But oh well, just figured I should call people out, even if they believe that I am wrong.

Thanks for the bias, mod's! You excel in that area!!!

  3. Vince Oliver began his musical career playing the saxophone and piano at age 9. He discovered percussion while in high school, and fell in love with drum corps at the same time. Since then, he has had the privilege of being a part of two world-class drum corps: the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard. His awards with these drum corps include two Individual & Ensemble awards (percussion ensemble, and individual keyboard), two high percussion awards, and a DCI championship.

He will do fine. He's gifted in winds and percussion.

  4. Bluecoats are going to have to do a hell of a lot of work in design and execution if this show is going be the "winner." Blue Devils have a little more ground to stand on than Bluecoats, and I would hardly call the fact that they, like the Blue Devils in 2007, are using wording about being a champion as a similarity.

I know I am going to get flamed by all the brilliant ones, but I think it is going to be a long, long, long time before we see the Bluecoats in the top 3.

    Ok...attack!

  5. Could you be more specific. I mean, each of us have our opinions about what companies and products we individually endorse, but it's sort of off-base to just make a blanket question in the way you did without specifics.

Like if you were to say that you didn't like company X and why is corps L using that company because you think their product suck, well then you have your opinion and get to complain about what a corps is doing.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to understand what corps your talking about and what products/endorsements.

  6. Oh, I get it! It's like an American Pie reference!

    that's original!

Really, I commend you for staying off topic in a thread that is off topic, as you have pointed out numerous times. Calm down, and don't click on the thread. You're not the only one on this forum.

Yeah, I should take that advice to heart and just go away for a while, maybe to marching band planet, and wait for everyone to join me for this discussion.

  7. Since this thread was closed, and well, I think what Jason was doing was the right thing by telling all Madison alums, which I will now branch out to all alum's of any respective corps. I think it is a good time to give your corps that Christmas present that will benefit them the most at this time of year, and that is a gift of a monetary donation to help the rising cost of running a corps. It's a great tax write off, and a great way to give back to the activity we all love.

Hopefully my post won't be closed, because a brother of mine had a post closed by simply stating that people should give their corps money, but I guess that was hard for some to understand.

And well, if a thread about HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND can go 9 pages, and the mod's can write back to me and let me know that a high school marching band dues thread is about drum corps, then hopefully a shameless plug from myself and thirdcoast to help out our corps will stay open.

    Happy Holidays all!

  8. Hey moderators...here's an idea. Let's close a thread by a Madison alum who is telling people to get in their alumni dues and support their respective corps, but let's keep open a thread that is about high school marching band fees, you know, rather than tell people to discuss this on the marching band planet.

    Great job.

  9. Oh wait I forgot..."what ever the Madison Scouts have ever done in the past, or used to do is good thing and should never be changed in any way. Change is bad, very bad and no one but former members know what should be done. Any other opinion must be wrong" Better?

Hey, Young-one-Mc-never-marched, look at any loyalist to any corps and you will find similar thoughts, besides, who ever said that change was bad or that certain organizations from Dane County don't believe in change is wrong.

But keep your bitter, got-cut rants going, their fun.
