I'd march 4 talented players before I'd march 4 talented players and one goofball, but if you have 5 good players I'd pick 5 man line.
Reasoning: More voicing - splits in top 4, groove in bottom
natural progression - many marching pieces are written in 4...five basses fits that progression better for runs
[To GBassMan5: Sorry you guys got stuck with using my corps bass at Prelims (it was my drum :) ) after a head busted. We lack the most sophisticated equipment, but hey, I guess its better than a broken head]

Star 93 is absolutely an "Oh Wow" drumline in my opinion.
It's been said before:
The visual demand coupled with the book demand is unbelievable.
While they may not seem it at first, Star 93 is truly a revolutionary line.

I think all basslines should be a combination of Evans and Remo heads...it makes for an interesting texture....
