Did a Facebook search - Memphis Blues rebranding as Cadets of Memphis, buying (or bought) a bunch of Cadets assets, and hope to get as close to the Cadets presentation without getting added to the lawsuit? Trying to be SoundSport this year.

Veering back on topic, I have talked to several people involved in other corps and their response to SCV’s demise has been “Covid hit corps hard”. What do you all make of that?
Covid hit the economy hard, in general. It also caused hardships for lots of not for profit orgs through the isolation and distancing protocols that were enacted during that period of time. Corps couldn't tour, couldn't effectively fundraise as they had previously, but still had non-tour related bills to pay. There were .org-based aid programs available through state and local governments as a response to Covid, but how many corps actually utilized those, I have no clue.

And some want them back only if they are financially stable, meeting all State and Federal requirements with true transparency, while treating the performing members in a respectful, responsible way.
I don't understand ANY poster who blindly praises a Vanguard comeback season without these exact stipulations, or who brands anyone who voices concerns as "haters." Anything else is unacceptable.

I’m hearing the long time Beanpot Show is gone. With Cadets gone, Bostons early show/s are in jeopardy. There may be only one WC show in the northeast now.
Dominoes continue falling, unfortunately.

We were told that the field had to be painted green because of the brownout.
Fact. After 26 years my shoes still have the green paint on them. Jackson was an abomination.

Certainly, Carolina Crown is in this category and I saw the 33rd place finish mentioned in several posts. From 33rd, dead last at DCI Buffalo 1990 preliminary competition to DCI World Champions in 2013. Took 24 years (more than that if you count the organizational years with CDCA) but it was worth every moment.

Shows you regret NOT seeing "Live"?
in DCI World Class Corps Discussions

I was in Bloomington that night. Drove all the way back to SC after Finals. It was my last live DCI show.
I wish I'd seen any of the finalist corps live from 83-87. It was an amazing time for drum corps, but I've been lucky to have seen enough live shows from either marching or teaching to be thankful for those experiences.
