  3. Bernie Malesky, Executive Director, Welcomed over 120 attendees at the Connecticut Hurricanes Open House. He said the 2007 Hurricanes are the NEW Hurricanes. The Board of Directors has voted to outfit the Corps with NEW B-Flat Bugles, NEW front ensemble equipment, NEW Percussion, NEW uniforms and a NEW home! The Seymour Community Center is the new home of the Connecticut Hurricanes. Anyone interested in auditioning can contact Cheryl Curran, Recruitment Coordinator, at (203) 583-6288 or attend a rehearsal.   5. 2006 HURRICANES HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES NAMED The Hurricanes are pleased to announce that longtime staff and marching members Dennis Banks, Mickey Kelly and Ray Fallon are the newest members elected to the Hurricanes Hall of Fame. All three played a big part in the Hurcs last World Championship in 1981. They will receive this honor at the Hurcs annual year end banquet celebrating the successes of 2006 on Friday evening, November 24, 2006 at 7pm at St. Sebastian Hall in Ansonia. If you would like to attend to help honor the 2006 corps and these three gentlemen, please contact Maureen Tardie @ ricknmaur8@adelphia.net The cost of the banquet is $32.00 pp. There will be a cash bar. Come spend an evening with all your friends at the Hurricanes and say hello to Dennis, Mickey and Ray.

  7. The Connecticut Hurricanes are pleased to announce their 2007 program entitled "The Music Of Leonard Bernstein." We have chosen some of his more popular works---some true drum corps classics that the Drum Corps community will greatly enjoy! We will be playing songs that he wrote for a movie, a musical and an opera. We will be opening with "On The Waterfront." The 2nd section will be a big rythmic production involving the percussion/pit and guard playing a big part in our presentation of "Mambo" from West Side Story as well as several different songs from this section of the play. The Ballad section will be "Make Our Garden Grow" from Candide and the last major production wil be "Candide." Come join us in 2007 for a summer to remember!! http://ct-hurricanes.org/

  9. Vic Kulinski Sr. We sadly announce the passing of Vic Kulinski Sr. Vic was a longtime member of The Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps. He was with the Corps from 1972 until his retirement in 1990. He was Sargent of the A- Squad from 1986 to 1990.   10. On behalf of Bernie and The Malesky Family during this time of sorrow thank you for all of your kind words! Below are the complete arrangements for Janinia. Janina Nazarko Malesky, age 83, of Stratford, beloved wife of 48 years to the late Frank J. Malesky, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at St. Vincent‚s Medical Center. The daughter of the late Bronislaw and Stanislawa Nazarko, she was a resident of Stratford for more than 25 years and had worked at General Electric many years ago. An active mom, she had been a chaperone for the St. Raphael Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps when her son had been a member. Survivors include her devoted children, Bernard F. Malesky and Suzanne Malesky, both whom resided with her in Stratford; two grandsons, Steven and Nicholas Malesky of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to Our Lady of Grace Church on Friday at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Michael‚s Cemetery, Stratford. Calling hours on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line).

The Wake will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at The Commerce Hill Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main St Bridgeport, CT 06604.   12. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Gabianelli, Tom Gabianelli's father. Frank was one of the founding members of The Connecticut Hurricanes as well as a founding member of The Connecticut Alumni. Frank was an 18 year marching veteran of The Hurricanes including the championship year 1981 and his last year marching was 1983. The wake will be Friday, December 2nd at Robert E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street in Seymour. The funeral will be on Saturday, December 3rd at The Church Of The Good Shepard, 135 Mountain Avenue in Seymour. The wake calling hours are 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. The funeral will start at 9:00 A.M. at the Robert E. Hull Funeral Home followed by church services at 10:00 A.M. at The Church Of The Good Shepard.

Lynn Dorothea Bobinski BOBINSKI, Lynn Dorothea Lynn Dorothea Bobinski, 35, of Mandel Dr., Southington, died Friday (August 26, 2005) at home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in New Britain on May 26, 1970 the daughter of Leonard and Dorothea (Redente) Bobinski. Lynn was a 1988 graduate of SHS and had graduated from Ithaca College in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a minor in music. Prior to her illness she was employed by Tele-Media as a video technician. She has also freelanced for Cox 3 television station. Lynn was involved in all types of dance and was an instructor at the Dancer's Workshop of Southington, she was an All State clarinet player in High School and College, she enjoyed all extreme sports such as skydiving, bungee jumping and white-water rafting. In college she was captain of the synchronized swim team and also a member of the Mu Phi Epsilon Sorority. She was a member of the CT Hurricanes Senior Drum Corps for six years. In addition to her father and mother of Southington, she leaves a brother Len Bobinski Jr. and wife Amy of West Simsbury; a sister, Donna Fontano and her husband Michael of Southington; three nephews Justin Fontano, Lenny and Skyler Bobinski and a niece Megan Fontano; her maternal grandmother Phyllis Redente of New Britain; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandfather Fred Redente and grandmother Anastasia Bobinski. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain, at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 8:30-11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
