I'd actually love the red violin. It'd be loads of fun to spin. I'd pay top dollar.
You don't have to pay top dollar - It's HALF OFF today and tomorrow only!!

I spoke with the Acheson's on Friday evening at semis. DCI is well aware of the ticketing fiasco and know this is a "must fix" situation. TicketMaster will also be addressed. To TicketMaster, the "best available seats" are in the end zones where TOUCHDOWNS occur. I applaud you sending a letter to DCI. The only way to get action is to address your concerns to the people that can do something about them!

This is no different than the hornline attempting plies, lunges, tondus, etc. There are only so many movements one can do carrying a thirty pound drum! I don't understand why it is OK for the hornline but not the drumline. Bluecoats were at least musical.

Are there actual alumni that can shed light on when the transformation took place. Guys I drank beer with in 2006 were unhappy that the Scouts weren't placing higher and they said they were embarrassed that Madison had missed Finals in 2002. Are they just nuts, was the beer clouding their memory, or has the philosophy changed and the old guys just lost touch?
Bingo!! Scott was still director in 2002. As an alum and parent of an alum, the competitive edge strongly existed when my son marched 2004-06! I think some of my fellow brothers have "just lost touch'! JMHO

And they told each other "Don't be afraid of the tarp." Oops, I mean dark!

pretty sure its the equipment.
...in each others hearts will always be... G
I think it is the Food truck by the look of it - the equipment truck has 2 doors at each end on that side and I only see one on the right - could be wrong though! the G-Men are smart in their travel in that they run their semis behind the busses in case of accidents so that some other vehicle doesn't slam into the back of a bus full of people - a way of protecting the occupants on the busses. Less lives at risk slamming into the back of an equipment truck than a fully loaded bus! PLUS, they're bigger!

The mileage sounds about right from where they are at, which is the Star rehearsal site. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's in Indy though. More like right outside Bloomington's North side. So... probably just a simple mistake.

Bloomington housing locations and distance to the stadium (701 E 17th St) according to Google Maps. Travel time may be understated for those going longer distances, since these are not all accessed by open highways. I can’t find some of the locations, so if you have updates, please post!

Wow, I've traveled from Indy to Bloomington MANY times - sure never made it in 16 minutes !!!! Blue Stars must have those bikes powered with jet fuel or something!
I do know that several corps will find their housing sites out on Tuesday!! Wow!

... that our discount for CONTINUING our membership made it $69 while NEW fans can now sign up for $39? Thanks for looking out for those of us who've been a part of it since the beginning.
WOW!!! Watching live streaming is HUGE to most people. I think the $69 - then discounted to $39 AT THE END of the live season is pretty reasonable. If the $39 is JUST now being offered, then the $69 is BY FAR the best value! I know I've certainly gotten my money's worth both this year and last. Yeah, I even go to shows too!!!!

Now work the same magic for your other 150 kids. GO COLTS
Couldn't have said that better myself!!!

Its a topic about the drums spinning. I actually wasn't the first person to bring up that someone else did it. Actually I wasn't even close, I just added to the conversation. I just think it would be good for people to see how these ideas were directly taken from other groups this past year, whos accomplishments and innovations will now be remembered as "Look what Blue Devils did in 2008", and not "Look what World Champion Rhythm X did"
AMEN!!! Let's give credit where credit's due!
GO X!!

The reason Jackson can't hold a candle is because of the torrential downpour during Finals.
At least you could get to Natchez (Vegas on the Miss.) fast for some "cultural excursions."
Didn't your mother teach you that" if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all??"

It's interesting how everyone is saying Cadets or Phantom should have won, but what about the Drumline that actually finished 2nd. Maybe they should be in this discussion a little more since they did get the second spot.
Go Bluecoats, and Congrats on your highest caption placement in DCI finals - 2nd in Percussion
You know - I was thinking the SAME THING!
BD 19.7
BLUECOATS 19.4
Phantom 19.3
PLUS, they had a snare that marched with a BROKEN FOOT!

This is a while ago, but I remember picking my youngest brother up in Racine in 1978 after the Kilts returned. My younger brother and I counselled him about cleaning up his language before he walked in our parents' door. :-)
How true!! b**bs

Let it be known that Bloo's drumline ended the year with a second place finish!!! Way to go!! ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^
1. BD 19.7
2. Bluecoats 19.4
3. Phantom 19.3

The Kingsmen were awesome!! Talk about bringing back memories!! They were the FIRST drum corps I ever saw - 1974. Drill was great WOW!
Thank you Kingsmen Alumni Corps - it was well worth the price of admission. SUPERB!
-
Perhaps they were members of the corps who marched earlier in the season and got hurt sometime DURING season. Just a thought.

Dayton, Ohio theater sold out tonight! Great for DCI - not so great for me!

If you're using Firefox you may want to think about opening it with IE (Internet Explorer).
I had no problem using Firefox.

Did anyone notice that scouts are only about 3 points away from being in top 12, average score wise? (found on dci.org)
go scouts!!! :)

Madison was not top-6 last year. They were a bottom-tier corps that placed 9th, a mere 2.875 from last.
Hmmmm . . . . Wow, only 3 points away from ALMOST making it!! WOW, 2.875 from last place! Seems like a double - edged sword to me. I'd take a ninth place finish any day over being 3 points away from being in the top 12! No brainer!!
Ask any director how difficult it is to make up 3 points! It aint easy! 3 points is HUGE!!! (be it from breaking into finals or 2.875 from 12th place! That's a BIG spread!!)
-
What year and where? I was probably there too! Been brainwashing my kidlets as long as they have let me.
1985!!!!
-
Took my oldest son to his first drum corps experience when he was 2 weeks old!! (Not that he remembers!!) It was actually a clinic that BD was giving in the afternoon before the show. He is aging out this year after marching 5 summers!!!
-
Devils Coat the Cadets for a 1- 2 - 3 finish! ^0^

Ken, re-read what I said. I'm on your side.
OK - I did - sorry !!
