Say you;ve got a brass line with a mix bag of G abd Bb instruments. normally you KNOW there'd be a ton of intonation anf other problems because of the differing instrumentation.
Could it me mitigated to some degree by -- for example -- putting all the 1st sops on the Bb and the 2nds on G? And would that translate down the brass choir??
Most musical ensembles (Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, Jazz Bands) are made up of many different keyed instruments.
Tonal Quality is the most important factor in producing good intonation. Good TQ comes from highly skilled musicians playing on quality instruments.
BTW, the Hit Men play Bb trumpets and G everything else, but that's not by choice it's necessity.

Sue was a wonderful friend of our entire family. The Martin's shared many wonderful times with Baldwin's. One we will never forget was Sue and John's wedding at the hotel in Sherburne. Yes, there were many fond memories and now Sue and Harvey will share more.
Our Condolences John and boys.
