In the right hands any instrument sounds wonderful. I myself perfer Bflat but whenever I watch old DCI videos, I'm amazed at how well the G horns sound with certain corps. Don't throw your money behind them so they can continue to have G horns; throw your money behind them so they can get the best possible education so they can play the best!

i've been watching 93 star a lot lately. i've noticed the drumline gets split throughout the show and as a brass player i'm always wondering why do this or how it would affect the line. i'm thinking when the line is split, the parts aren't as demanding.
anyways: thoughts?

awesome! awesome to the max!!
music is so powerful

i'm surprised only one person mentioned blue devils vs cavaliers.
in the 2004 pbs special they showed a blue devil placing a shooting range poster on the ground in front of the bus and everyone coming off of the bus would stomp on it

1995; enough said

i wouldn't be surprised if they went with darker colored pants. they made top 4 and the darker pants might help them hide the dirt thus making them climb higher. i seriously hope they don't go to darker pants though!
edited for clarification

woudn't there be an awful time delay if the basses were in the pit and the rest of the drumline marching around?
anyways, i agree with what everyone is basically saying. hopefully corps will prove us wrong

with the new 150 member rule in place for next season, will we see cymbal lines return? i love scv's line. i always try to follow what they do when i watch videos

yeah that story is crazy! one of my best friends and i are like that sort of (not to that extreme). we were born on the same day and have similar connections. we wouldn't have met if it wasn't for university jazz band

that was a pretty cool performance!

Capital Regiment and Magic (announced today) are also not going to finals
these corps are inactive for 2007. meaning they are not fielding a corps. whereas capital sound is fielding a corps but not going to championships. BIG difference
-
i'm sure it's always a difficult decision to make whether to compete or not. but i'm glad capital sound made the decision to compete but just not at championships. i'm sure other corps have thought of this option but i wish more would choose this direction instead of taking a year off. not to say that capital sound is in bad shape or anything

wow thanks everyone. i was looking for those three since corpsreps has the best. then again i think a few are off on the corpsreps site. yeah the lakeshoremen one is a tricky one. i'm think la nouba too.

i'm currently adding the 2005 DCA World Championship cd's to my itunes. Unfortunately the cds don't have the show titles on them. And I'm weird about getting show titles correct. I'm using corpsreps but not everything is on there. it would be great if i could get pointed in the right direction, given the names, or whatever. thanks for your help

yeah the education part is pretty important. many people may not see the education part at first. however quality must be number one in drum corps or anything else.
i forgot to add this stuff to my earlier post:
brass is only 1/3 of the product on the field. they can only get so far with a great hornline who just happens to play on a G horn if the rest of the corps isn't at the same caliber. also, if they did make a climb for the upper tier, i doubt anyone/ everyone would say it's because they use G horns; it's because they are that #### good!
