  1. I believe we have two father and son teams in the drum line...

I had one in the cymbal line, but gave up Dad to be in the tymp line...a quick story.

Last year we did a standstill at The Impulse ( ) show and Sr., we call them Sr. and Jr. since they share the same first name, so Sr. had been filling Jr. with all this Kingsmen lore, so they started walking to the bathrooms in pairs. It was a crack up!!!

That's it, thanks for indulging me B)

There they are on the far right...aren't they cute???? b**bs

man jr. looks sooo young in that... lol

  2. Chico: So many thanks for keeping up my KAC stoke. I'll sure be with you all in spirit at DCI.....wish I could be there.

Remember how I used to say "...it just keeps getting better....?" I still say that every time I see the new crop of pictures.

Spending 06 marching with KAC was such a treat. If family matters hadn't taken priority I would for sure be with you on the Rose Bowl field but I'm still happy enough to still be included on the corps roster as an "inactive corps member."

Just to see pics of the corps in the new uniforms and out there on the field now is treat enough.

See you all when I can,

    RON HOUSLEY

Ron, you were and are absolutely right, it does just keeps getting better... and better and better... wish you would join us on August 10th... but I understand....

Ya know what one of the greatest things that has come to light with the KAC....it's the fact that so many of our "Invited Guests" have been enveloped in how the Kingsmen did things and how we still do them now..........Our "IGs" have become Kingsmen and are proud of this Corps......I tease some of the guard members about how "The girls in red have become blue"....proud as a new daddy of everyone in our "Big ol Blue Monster"...this says NOTHING of all the new friendships and relationships that will far outlive the jabs and jealousy.......

Back in Black & Blue!!!! Yippee.....

as one of the said "IGs"... i gotta say its been a HUGE honor... hear history, see history be history.. thanks for giving this fan the opportunity....

see ya guys @ August Kamp

  3. You know--I have to chime in. Chris Nalls absolutely nailed it on the head, and unbeknownst to me, said sort of the same thing I said but far more eloquently. I just posted this on the Dream discussion forum because someone asked what was happening with THIS discussion on DCP. I post this for education purposes--because really, the FREAKIN' BOTTOM LINE--is that it is UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING that corps is so dang popular in California right now. TRUST ME...if you came up to me in 1994 and said, "Dude, in 13 years, you'll see a rebirth of this activity!" I would have laughed in your face. Anyway--this is what I posted--$1 to Chris Nalls for a GREAT post...

In all sincerity, does it really matter. It's a bunch of stupid verbal judo, and as is the classic "drum corps model" people get their feathers all ruffled. It is TIME FOR US TO PAY ATTENTION TO US. Period.

KAC is a fantastic ensemble. PERIOD.

DREAM is an unbelievable success story. PERIOD.

The two entities CAN and WILL and DO exist in the same hemisphere, and we need to be professional, cordial, and/or whatever else we can do to encourage and support them.

Both of our organizations have come a long, long way, and with all the differences that exist within BOTH OF OUR ORGANIZATIONS (no matter the back and forth between our orgs), we should be proud of our own and each other's accomplishments. For God's sakes--we have TOO MUCH CRAP IN THE WORLD to be worried about anything other than just trying to do our very best for our organization. Let's give a raise of a beer mug or a thumbs up or whatever to the KAC and wish them well.

We're on the verge of winning a national championship.

They're on the verge of winning national admiration and respect.

We're both winners!! Isn't that awesome enough to eclipse anything else--like who did what when and who said what where?

Ryan remind me to buy you a diet coke next time I see ya.. awesome post... and yea I couldn't agree more...

For someone who never had the chance to do junior corps (yea I'm one of the many "guests") it's been a HUGE honor to be apart of this group...

It's been awesome to meet those who marched in the 70's and hear their stories of how it was and how it is now...

August 10th can't come any sooner...

    Here's to the day :worthy:

(oh yea look for me and my buddy marching down with the tymps... I'm one of the marching xylos.. yep... yep...)
