  2. Could you provide a seating chart? I can't see Section S listed on the one DCI has on their site.

I don't, but based on what DCI told me when I got these Section S is supposed to replace the old Section Z which means it would be the upper right block in that chart.

I now also have a buyer for this ..... just waiting for the check.

  3.   Windsor Regiment moves ahead into 2009

After coming off a successful inaugural performance at the MCA Championships in Albany, Windsor Regiment Mini Corps is moving forward into the 2009 season. We will be continuing with our "On the West Side of Windsor - a tribute to Stan Kenton" theme for the 2009 season, returning to competition with excerpts from West Side Story, Kenton Style. This year the repertoire will include "Tonight", "Prologue", "Cool", "Taunting Scene", and "Somewhere".

Rehearsals have been at very high level and we are excited going into the new year! With the maximum number of performing musicians being 21, we are looking for a few more players to fill out our line. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in competing in a mini-corps to join with our seasoned players. For directions and more information please visit our website at http://www.windsor-regiment.com or send me a message through DCP.

Just wanted to add to the message above that Windsor Regiment is still looking for additional musicians. We've had a few new additions lately but still want more to fill our line so whatever section you may be interested in I invite you to come on out and give us a look.

The book represents Kenton's West Side Story extremely well and will provide a challange to all, so if Jazz and Stan Kenton peak your interest as a player, you will enjoy these arrangements.

We have a number of rehearsals over the next few weeks (please see our web site for details) and if you have any questions I can be contacted through DCP or you can contact our Director (Kevin Serfass) through here or our web site above.

  4. always a pleasure and definately an honor to stand with you in an arc or on the field. and yes even though you are younger  you keep me pushing the most to maintain (even though the tall guy  is doing a good job pushing too)

I don't know how much pushing I'm doing but I'm still getting stronger :tongue::lol: !!!

Hey....maybe after Frank gets done his "siesta" we can both push you together and have some fun trio action in our future !!!

  5. I got the Serenade flyer at rehearsal yesterday and was so bummed to see the Cabs Field Corps wont be joining us this year....but, still a great line-up and the mini-corps concert is going to be even better than last year...CANT wait !

    What's the official line-up, since I haven't seen it posted yet ???

  6. I currently have 1 combo set (same seat both nights) in Section J, Row 30, Seat 6. They cost me $57.50 (this consists of the face value & the DCI service fee) and that is what I'm selling them for.

If interested please contact me at ghhead@hotmail.com

    George

  7. James,

If you are out there, I've tried several times via different e-mail addresses of my own to reply to your e-mail but they keep getting rejected. Please drop me another line to confirm your e-mail address or to supply another. I will make another attempt tomorrow just in case it's a problem with my connection this evening.

  8. I have 1 complete set of tix for sale. First priority will go to someone willing to go for the set. I'm not looking to make money on this just what I paid for it which is face value and the service charge. So $151.00 is the going rate for the set. I'll take cashiers check, certified check, money order or personal check but will wait for it to clear prior to sending out the tix. Seat location is the front row of the upper deck close to the 50.

    331/1/9 = quarters/semis

    309/1/9 = finals

I will send a pic of tix as confirmation that I do actually have them in my possesion to those interested.

  9. This looked like a good topic for my first post so here goes.

1981 was my first year with the corps and was also the first year with the brass bell. There was no symbolism invloved or any special story. The brass staff felt that the brass bell would produce a unique sound (and clearly a much better sound than the old chome plated babies they had been using). As this was the only bugle that I had played I can't say that it was that different from any of the others that I had heard. I suspect it helped produce a slightly darker sound. I believe the most unique aspect of that horn was in the way it looked as it was certainly different from everyone else.

A special thanks to Gary for his photo it brings back some good memories !!
