  1. I've created a Google Docs spreadsheet to post the scores at. It's accessible via the web so you don't have to scroll through the thread to find the scores. Note that I am at work, however, so I may not be able to update as soon as scores are announced.

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?hl=en_US&hl=en_US&key=0AkOC7u8Z_kMTdG5TbXRMTGdJaUx2cVpwOE1aU2N3REE&single=true&gid=0&output=html

The spreadsheet page updates automatically every five minutes, so you can just open it and leave it in the background to check occasionally for new scores.

cool idea, thank you for doing this

  2. Seriously everyone? Wow...

I think LOS is one of the best places finals could be, except for the West Coast. If we had finals in the rain, there would be more slipping and falling (not to mention unnecessary injuries), no more electronics (which I know many of you would probably like), delays because of lightning (having to move under the stands and back out again, maybe more than once), and possibly enough wind to make the colorguard's performance really suffer (a dome is literally perfect for them). Oh yeah, and it wouldn't be as comfy.

I think DCI does a great job in eliminating the echo. LOS is not nearly as bad as the Alamodome or Atlanta. I agree that open air shows are better musically, but it's really not THAT bad at LOS. I think DCI can do more to help it with the curtains and all, and maybe they will this weekend. After all, they're still learning about the best ways to do it too.

And yes, this year has been a bad year as far as storms. Maybe not in the early season, but there have been many delayed and cancelled shows this year.

  3. just a prediction here, with 41 corps competing and spreads to figure in, there will be a record number of corps break 90 tonight. Also expect some OC corps to knock out some WC that have been stagnate toward the bottom of the pack for the past few years.

  4. no just tired of the same old crap everytime you come to drum corps planet, instead of discussing what this corps and that corps are doing with their shows, we are rehashing an issue that has technically been going on since amplified pit in 2004. We don't make the rules, professionals do. I didn't insult any of you, just stating that our administrators need to just delete these topics, 7 years is enough, it is not going to change.

  5. can we please just make a new law prohibiting electronics topics on DCP, although the original post was wonderfully written and i totally agree, it just opened the door for another 50 page grip session for all of those who hate electronics. I marched well before electronics, and if we had those tools, god only knows how much more our show could have been enhanced. My parents used to drive a Yugo, doesn't mean everyone should still be driving yugos, things evolve and grow.

  6. i think this is one of the best choices dci ever made for the open class corps. No matter how they do the kids get to perform in the dome under the lights with the big corps. People who usually don't see these corps will be exposed. and if some of the open class knock out some world class more power to them.

  7. i was a saxophone major and i played mellophone in corps. i was not alone, many members learned a new instrument to march as well as many color guard members were woodwinds, why not give them a chance to showcase a different talent, and yes they should wear their medals, an acomplishment is an acomplishment. before i get crucified, i'm not saying woodwinds belong on the field, but s/e, who cares, let people do what they enjoy. and by the way, kudus to blue stars clarinet soloist in the encore of rapsody in blue, he does an awesome job. gershwin would be proud.

  8. ideally drum corp is brass percussion and guard, reguardless of what changes, it will always be auditioned, with the best young performers in the nation, busting their butts for absoulute pefection, led by the most talented design teams available, unlike marching band, the members will continue give up their summers, eat breath and sleep the show, and entertain in venues all over the country.
