OK, Not to be too much of a dork here, and I have been sitting on this for some time
BUT
If you are going to shorten Phantom Regiment's name you should call them Regiment, NOT Phantom.
Think about it. It would be like referring to the Blue Devils as Blue instead of The Devils or Devs.
Lots of people refered to Garfield Cadets as "Garfield".
The website is Regiment.orgWell no wonder I can never find it!
Congrats Phantom!!!! :)

Congrats! Machine is one of the best designed shows I've ever seen.
The performance wasn't too shabby either! B)
-
Yeah, McConnell did the music from 92-96. We would always joke that he wrote it with a beer in one hand and a joint in the other.
Didn't you mean to say, "We would always 'joke'..."? :)

May I add That this is quite possibly one of the most competitive and quality Drum Corps years ever.....Everything is so tight, so great, man i was blown away by tonights performances.....I would be happy with any combination of corps in the top 3, Kudos DCI
A friend of mine who marched several years in the late 80's/early 90's including BD but hasn't seen
a drumcorps show in awhile went to the broadcast. After Glassmen finished their show, he said that
the most amazing thing about that show is that it's in 11th place. Just a few years back that would have
been at least a 7th place show.

The pandering to the locals is always an eye-roller for me in any sort of performing.
Helps them connect with the audience.
-
This was my favorite part of the interview;
"What do you do during rehearsal?"
"I march."
That was priceless! Our whole theater busted up laughing!
-
I saw Crossmen for the first time last night as well and I really like the show. It seems
that everyone in the theater liked it alot too. Very entertaining show.
Good job Crossmen!

So what exactly can Phantom do to win this thing?
As I was watching the show I was thinking it would have been cool to have marched
the black uni's all summer and then on finals night - tear away the black uni's to
reveal the white's at the beginning of resurrection.
Ok - that's probably too complicated and maybe kinda cheesy. But it woulda been cool. B)

Black and white stripes?
Horizontal or vertical stripes?
Phantom Zebra
Naked? b**bs

Nearest theater to me is 3:30 away. Then there's gas...
I've driven 4 hours for it before (Jackson,MS to Birmingham, AL).

Due to recent events in the UK today heathrow airport has shut down all US flights until further notice , so unfortunetly I will not be attending the DCI semi's and finals this weekend.
I cant describe how angry am :(
I know where you're coming from. A bunch of work buddies and their families and I had planned for months a diving/snorkeling trip to Cozumel. Unfortunately, our departure date was 9/15/01. Needless to say, we stayed home due to international flights being cancelled.
Sorry that your trip got screwed up. You could join Season Pass and watch Semifinals on the live video stream.

I can't find a room anywhere for Saturday night. (Duh - I should have known).
Did anyone reserve a room that they no longer need? If so, let me know (you can email my DCP account).
Thanks in advance,
Bart

Hey Bart...I'll help you keep it alive and post on here too. We're headed to Madison in the morning. Darren Webb will be intown on Friday as well. Hope to see everyone there.
Ok - last bump post.
I'll see all you guys in Madison!
-
Okay. Who has been in the stadium this week? Are the letting bags in or not? I know what is on the web site, but I want the real story. How about leaving the stadium? Are they allowing re-admittance?
Last time DCI was in Madison (2002?), I tried to get in with a backpack and the gate nazis turned me away.
I even tried to carry it over one shoulder to convince them that it was a "small purse" (which they say is allowed) but they didn't go for it.
-
Hope you guys don't mind if I bump this post once in awhile over the next day or so
in order to let people know.
If it's too annoying let me know.
Ok - I'm going to do it one more time tonight and that's it.
-
Too bad I'm stuck on MAUI...
Awwww... you poor guy. :)
-
Phantom and Cavies TIE!!!
My gosh, man - I hope not.
There will be a riot.
I will start it.

.5 away from where they were 3 days ago? not that out of line. would you consider it out of line if they improved by .5?
Also, if you check the spread between them and BD, it has been increasing gradually, so the spread is nowhere near out of line.
Jumps of 0.5 are not that uncommon (ie Cadets from East Rutherford to Allentown), but a drop of 0.5 in a single caption I would consider out of line.
But then again - I'm biased. :)
-
ummm? What
He's screwin' with us man! Let's jump him!!!
-
They are probably reading this thinking......hmmmm..lets hold the scores a little while longer and watch them all squirm a little bit more.
They're probably getting into bed and thinking - naaahh... nobody would stay up this late for scores.
-
I wish Bloo would bring back its cymbal line. :(
Yeah - the one from 91.
-
Heh-heh - it's starting to look like a Bluecoats reunion in here. :)
Hey Darren, Donny, Rodney, Stinger, Eric, (and all those who have usernames that I don't know).

Well said. If the corps I was marching got that kind of response, I wouldn't care if we had placed 14th on finals night.
BTW - GREAT job Crown! You were definitely a crowd favorite this year!
