I thought Marty was already in the Hall of Fame! Well he should definitely be in. Growing up in southern Louisiana and playing in the championship UL-Laf drum lines of the mid 80's, Marty was such an huge influence for all members of those lines. It was a honor knowing him and he will be missed tremendously.

Gotta wonder if the prominent XY is supposed to be a little pun...
That's what I was thinking also.

I just listened to it again on FN, it was fun and contrasted with the other parts of the show.
...and done a couple more times from other corps I see.
I love playing Jade, very fun and definitely a contrast to the other parts. Also Jeff, in 1985 parts of the guard marched cymbals (the red ones) for the opener Mars..

I find myself with a smile on my face while reading Bill's words in Recollections.
Then I've got tears running down my cheeks as I watch the Tribute video.
My oh my...
That's the same reaction I had. Especially at the end...

I agree that both are great, but to throw a wrench in the works... One More Time Chuck Corea.
Now why did you go and do that! I was a set to vote "La Fiesta" as my all time favorite concert piece of all time, then you throw "One More Time Chuck Corea" into the mix. Darn, now I'm all confused and stuperfied!! :worthy:

I'm just glad MY show didn't make his list!
Two words...."La Fiesta"...enough said....

I recommend that you do not vote for BD, Cavaliers, Cadets, Crown, Bluecoats, Vanguard, or Phantom.
Well seems as The Cavaliers' food truck caught fire a few days ago and is rendered useless for the remainder of the summer, I think I will vote, as this this is a huge financial hit for them.

Mike I just saw a very nice story about Bugles Across America on CNN yesterday...

Saw my first PBS show in 1979, Joined the Pride of Cincinnati in the middle of their inaugural first tour in 1981. Been hooked ever since...
-
Hey now....we carried those things all OVER the place....danced on them, jumped off of them, lifted them up in the air, and based the entire guardwork for the ballad on them. When BD starts doing backflips over their chairs, then we can talk.
(Btw...i still hate those #### pink things)
I think he was referring to Blue Stars use of tables in their production this year.

In 1983 I tried out for Phantom Regiment, along with John Wooton, Joe Gary and 4 others from my school (UL-Lafayette). Everyone made it...well except for me. Got back home and my percussion instructor suggested I tryout for the Cavaliers since he marched a few years prior. The rest is history...

I wasn't too excited until I saw the trailer... this will be pure Madison!
Dam you!!!....

Here's a new 'audition' tape from BB...seems he wants to cross over to the other side...pure insanity!!

ugh, let's hope note. the cavalier's drumline, as we know it, has no business even being in the top three or four, much less winning the trophy.
And whyyyyyy not? Don't hate; appreciate...
