flamaflam5 Posted May 22, 2008 Share Posted May 22, 2008 Mars Hill College will be hosting a Summer Percussion Camp led by Brian Tinkel from June 15th through June 19th. This four-day workshop is for high school and middle school students interested in furthering their skills and knowledge in percussion. The camp is designed to develop the mental and physical aspects of percussion performance through Technique, Reading, and Musicianship. Emphasis is placed on establishing a positive attitude, leadership skills, and a uniform playing style. Students will have the opportunity to learn in a group setting similar to what they experience in most high school band activities. The camp offers a well rounded percussion experience by not only emphasizing on marching, but also having sessions on drumset, world percussion, concert percussion etc. The staff here is great and includes Brian Tinkel (Former caption head of Carolina Crown, currently on staff at The Cavaliers) Ian Hale (Currently on staff at Carolina Crown) and more!
