FARMINGDALE, NY, March 10, 2009 - Evans Drumheads is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with the Blue Devils Organization. The Blue Devils continuously set themselves apart as a leader in the Drum Corps community…and the continued growth of the Evans product line, including the recent major strides, represent the next step in the evolution of the Blue Devils sound and gives them the tools to continue to redefine the marching activity.

“The Blue Devil family is always looking for inventive ways to create the new sounds of tomorrow”, says the Blue Devils’ Director of Percussion, Scott Johnson. “We are all excited to work alongside the Evans/D'Addario team, as we move forward into the next generation of marching percussion.

The partnership also represents an opportunity to explore new product ideas. The two organizations will pool their collective experience and resources with the goal of designing a line of percussion accessories, under the System Blue™ name, that will provide new sonic, performance, and educational options that will be sure to break new ground in the world of drum corps.

"We are thrilled to embark on this partnership and look forward to an exciting and productive relationship," says Jim Bailey, Evans Educator Relations Manager. "The Blue Devils organization and staff bring the talent and experience essential to Evans’ process of design innovation. It’ll be like pouring gasoline on the fire.”

“I, for one, am extremely excited about this bold step that propels the Blue Devils and Evans into the future of the percussion soundscapes,” exclaims percussion instructor and Evans artist, Ben Maughmer. “The Evans products have proven to be of the highest quality, and the company has shown the willingness to push the envelope when it comes to innovative solutions to today’s' percussive needs. Smart, experienced, responsive people along with a vast array of quality product possibilities, have made this union inevitable, the Blue Devils and Evans.
