Bushwackers Had A Very Successful Weekend!

Recommended Posts

They can steal our equipment, but they can’t steal the soul of the corps, and this past weekend proved just that as the Bushwackers had a fantastic rehearsal camp weekend on April 26 and 27.

The Bushwackers extend their heartfelt thanks to Raiders for hauling their trailer to Ridgefield Park for the weekend. Director Tom Maiello is a Bush alumnus and a fantastic guy, and Raiders generosity was key in helping us maintain our momentum this weekend.

We are also thankful to Bob Jacobs and the Surf for supplying our new brass line for 2008. Mr. Jacobs has been a wonderful friend to Bush over the years, and he’s a gem among gems in our wonderful community.

And, a special thank you goes to Chuck Holmes and Northeast Band Supply for outfitting the defending DCA Champion Colorguard with new equipment on a moment’s notice this past weekend.

In other news: Bush accepted more new horn players this weekend, but we still want to add a few more low brass players. The guard turnout was exceptional. We finished the opener (playing and marching and with a good amount of guard work, also), and that usually doesn’t happen at Bush until May.

The next rehearsal is Saturday May 10th from 10am to dark (a full corps rehearsal). Mother’s day is OFF for the corps.

We have rented storage facilities 1/2 mile from our rehearsal site, and we will start picking up equipment this week for the next camp.

We are looking into a new 35 ft trailer to be custom made for the corps, and everything is moving along nicely with minimal disruptions to the task at hand: putting “Gypsodic!” on the field for 2008.
