hammondbrass
Our neighborhood clubhouse used to have a couple of tread mills. When I was in high school, I used to go up there and practice (trumpet) because I could play as loud as I wanted and they had cathedral ceilings. Well, one thing led to another, and I used to march/practice scales and show music on the tread mills. It's actually really good at getting the feet out of your sound and it pushes you to keep your feet in time. Plus, I don't know of any members actually marching while playing on their own in between camps. I also think it would be a great tool for a tech to really scrutinize each member (posture, toe roll, feet in sound, etc.) at a stationary position (not having to move). So, I would highly recommend it - especially if you can find a place that's private (I did it at night and never got caught...lol!).
fourouttheforty
I do it sometimes when I'm cooling down after a run, just for fun.
