Hawthorne Caballeros Camp Weekend - 02.20.10 and 02.21.10

North Warren Regional School District in Blairstown, NJ

The winter season is heating up! Stop by and warm your drum corps soul with the heat of the 2010 Hawthorne Caballeros! Check out the Hawthorne Caballeros at our next camp weekend for Brass and Percussion on Saturday, February 20th and Sunday, February 21st, 2010. We will rehearse on Saturday from 8:30 am until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. Lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday, dinner will be served Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning. Meals are available for $3 each. Overnight facilities are available at Post 199 in Hawthorne on Friday night and at the school on Saturday evening. Bring towels, soap and personal bedding. Directions to North Warren Regional School District:

From 80 East

Take 80 East to exit 4 for Route 94, follow the signs to 94 North. Follow into Blairstown and

turn right at the first light onto Lambert Road. Make another left onto Raub road and it will

lead directly to the school.

From 80 West

Take 80 West to Exit 12. After getting off the exit go right onto Route 521. Follow to

Blairstown. Make a left at the "T" in the road onto Route 94 South. At the second traffic

light, turn left onto Lambert Road. Then turn left onto Raub Road.

From Newton (Sussex County)

Take 94 South to Blairstown. At the second traffic light, turn left (Lambert Road). Turn left

again onto Raub Road.

From Hunterdon County

Take 31 North to 46 West (a left turn at Route 46). Continue on 46 until exit to 94 North.

Follow signs to 94 North-Blairstown. Immediately after the A&P on the left side, turn right at

the light (Lambert Road). Turn left onto Raub Road.

As you might have already read we had a very productive camp. But we all know coming from someone in the corps it can and will be summed up as Over hype.

So instead here is what I have to say.

For all that are interested here is what we are looking for.

Percusssion: because this section is based more on set numbers here is what we are looking for.

Battery: 2 Snares, 2 Tenors.

Pit : 1 Four mallet player

Brass : of course is a different story we welcome all that are Interested as we always do. But the spot we are highlighting is the Contra/Tuba. This does not mean if you don't play contra not to come, still come we have a place for you and would love to have you as well.

Guard: since most are in Winter Guards that is still a wide open section. Stay to tuned for announcements of guard practices.

So if you are interested Please email Mike or myself (Chris) @ gntlc@aol.com

You all Are invited to come out and see what's what. Seeing is in the believing.

We are looking for a few brass players... and a few percussionists. In addition the guard still has spaces available and we are always looking for Support personnel. Be a part of the Cabs for 2010... It's going to be a exciting adventure....

Thanks for placing this here....We are looking for 2 tuba/contras and 2 Baritones. for the brass section and 2 snares and 2 tenors for field percussion and 1 mallet player for the pit...Come be a part of an exciting season for 2010.
