Great review! And dead on!

Which is what's probably gonna happen!

Idel - I was JUST coming on here to get the convo started!!!! LOL Glad you did!
As a SA co-director, I'm on the fence about it and hope WGI posts more info about it.
Here's one of my biggest questions: Will the AA finals be at UD Arena??? That's a HUGE factor as far as I see it!
Also, although we won't "know" until after regional season, we will sort of "know" by following the rankings.
Was anyone there that can provide us with more info????

I agree, Mike. I've never really been a fan until this year either!
Such a experience to see it live!

So I showed Onyx's show to my non-color guard boyfriend last night.
He called it a "game changer"....agreed!
Best champion ever??? discuss!

Our guard, George Ranch HS, Richmond, TX (Scholastic Reg. A) just finished it's season last weekend. Sadly we can't go to WGI. Our district only allows one out of state trip per year so it's saved for the band and color guard.
In just our 4th year, the kids had a fantastic season. Three shows with three first place trophies and then a silver medal at the TCGC East Championships. There were 24 SRA guards divided into two rounds of 12. We were the #1 seed going in but, without going into it, "something" happened and we brought home the silver which we are still very excited about! This was done with one Senior, four Sophomores, seven Freshman, and two 8th graders. Seven members of the guard touched equipment for the first time during the prior marching season and had never done winter guard. Needless to say, we're very excited about the future of the guard at The Ranch.
As soon as the video is available, I'll post the link. I'd post a show from earlier in the season but changes have been made since then.
Would love to see it!

My faves so far are:
Alter Ego - OK I might be biased, but as a teacher, you really feel the pain of those poor kids "crossing over."
Mechanisburg HS - My fave last year and this year does not disappoint!
St. Ann's - LOVE that they are back (and LOVE the homage to "Shaker Loops" of St Ann's past!)
Who I want to see again....Black Watch, Field of View, Patriots, Trumbull HS
Who I can't wait to see LIVE....SCV, Onyx (there I said it!), Tarpon Springs HS, Flanagan HS, North Syracuse Central HS

Coach's Eye is fantastic!!!
it allows you to upload your guard's video through the app and show the video to students in slow motion, highlight mistakes, etc.
Well worth the $4.99!

So sorry to hear :(

You're right Jeremy! definitely 2 sides to this debate!
From the beginning of this rule change I have only had one argument against it. In the pre 2000 era the progression was that most performers would start with a high school and then move into an Independent guard until they aged out. After aging out they became the next generation of designers and instructors. My biggest fear has always been that we are losing the next big name instuctor because they never age out.
The positive effect on the change is that we are seeing the numbers of units in Independent World class flourish on a constistent basis. Remember that in 1999 the year before the change only 17 groups competed in the class......so few that they took everyone in finals. That was definately not a good situation. Also if you really look at the performers in world class today you do not see very many really old folks still marching. For the first few years many older performers came back....but in today's class they are the exception to the rule.

If you don't trade it and want to sell it, let me know....we may have something else worked out, but your time would work for us as well!
PM me if you want to sell (and how much!) thanks!
We have a 8-10 pm practice on Wednesday in Middletown, and would like to get a morning time on Thursday. Looking to see if anyone is willing to trade times. Or if anyone is willing to sell us a Thursday morning time, we would be willing.

You have to log in on WGI website, Then go to the Championships tab, then at the bottom they have a link to "register" for rehearsal space.
I must be an idiot because I don't see it....under "schedules"??

Who do we have to e-mail to get on the wait list???
Thanks for using CGP as your trading post!

Thank YOU!!!!
I've done the rankings before...it's no picnic (that Scholastic A - oy!)
We'll miss you!
The final, and I do mean FINAL, rankings have been posted.

Hi all!
On Tuesday, March 26 at 9 p.m., #wgibringbacktheminidonuts will go viral! If you miss the mini-donuts at the UD Arena and want to enjoy them during the 2013 World Championships, please FB or Tweet this hashtag on Tuesday night!
I mean, what do we all diet before "Debbie" for??? SO WE CAN EAT DONUTS!!!

BTW: In SA, West Orange and Souther Regional both promoted to SO
Week #2 has been posted. Looks like a lot of strong groups here in the early season across the country!
-
I saw that!!!! and I just paid the other night!!! Oh well, I need it for the season anyway!
Not sure how many of you know. Just wanted to share.
-
I may have it on VHS at home LOL
I think its bc of the copyright issues with the soundtrack

I've only seen 2 (Somerville and South Brunswick). Somerville is doing "Eve" (as in Adam and...) and is making a VERY strong entrance into SO (after winning SA last year!)
South Brunswick is doing "Fragile" and it makes you smile to hear that song again!
We only have one right now in Michigan, Walled Lake Central. I really like what they have going on! They're usually very strong on rifle, and this year is no different. They'll have a really cool stage when it's all done.
