  1. I will say this about number 9.

The last 2 years my kids did NOT make SA finals, but were fortunate enough to perform in the UD arena both times in prelims. I have great pics of the kids on that big stage! I'd hate to lose that opportunity.

  2. What's the paid time off situation if I make this my full-time job? LOL I am losing 2.5 personal days for my trip to Dayton next week from my "job!" LOL

Maybe it's a better deal, who knows??

    A. I did and have contacted Michael Lentz personally to discuss his process and the show...and received very rude personal comments.

    B. I included my name; so the post was not anonymous.

    C. Trish's 'job'? This is an online forum for discussion (which really holds no place of significance in the real world). Trish is not the gestapo, police, or even anyone of any kind of authority. If this is her 'job', I feel she should set higher aspirations for herself; and let people speak their opinions, which is the whole purpose of this entire site.

  3. Thank you! For every hater in this process there's been a motivator, so keep 'em coming :)

Are you out of your mind?

I hate Onyx's show (yes - "hate" is the appropriate term) as much as the next guy, but a lot of the posts on here are unnecessary and kind of embarrassing for our activity. Why WOULDN'T Trish close the topic? If anyone has a personal issue with Michael Lentz (which I don't think is too unreasonable considering some of his comments referenced on CGP), I'm sure you can find a way to contact him directly rather than anonymously posting on here.

It's ridiculous to call anyone a coward for simply doing their job.

  4. I closed the topic I was asked to close. I didn't close this one.

Trish: I think you are a coward. You let one person dictate what people are allowed to discuss about our art form and activity. Forums are for discussions. This is an artform. If Mike Lentz does not want to be upset by people responding to his work, he should not look here. And, unfortunately for his wonderful performers, I will not be sitting through Onyx's show...or any kind of pompous webforum that he chooses to do. The way he has handled all of this is reflective of someone I will not look up to as a leader in this activity; and I know MANY that feel the same way. Please get a grip about your position on these forums. You try to assert your place in colorguard by controlling what people discuss...and that's a pretty ridiculous contribution.

  5. Hi all,

Here's the situation with the post on Onyx.

The thread was deleted because it's a tense time for everyone right now. The goal right now is for ALL groups to focus on having a great WGI weekend.

I've been contacted by Michael Lentz of Onyx. He's expressed that AFTER WGI he'd be willing to do a live forum, explaning Onyx's show and discussing the show with people - be it negative or positive!

We'll let you know when that will take place. Thank you all!

  6. I don't really "feel" after reading that I don't need to see Braddock's show. I don't think too much detail was given away at all.

    Can't wait to see it!

^^^ This is why I don't really like seeing these "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT" reviews... what if we are anticipating seeing this group perform? I would much rather read something that hypes me up to see that particular show, rather than have it spelled out for me. It's like ruining the ending of a movie you haven't seen.

  7. Patsi was my first instructor in the Sundowners, when I moved to NJ from the Bronx and was looking for a way to "fit in." Her passion and love for the activity was contagious and I really believe it's the reason why I kept going.

In 1996, my first year in DCA, I competed in (and won) my first duet in I&E with the Bushwackers. I was sooooo nervous before we performed, but I looked up and in the middle of that mall in Rochester was Patsi. I was so excited and proud that she was there!

As I continued to perform with the Bushwackers and later the Brigadiers, I ALWAYS hoped that the Skyliners would be at the show so I could see the Peters.

I'll miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.

    Thank you, Patsi.

  8. Such sad news. Thanks for the info.
