I cried tears of joy. I watch the video about once a week. It’s historic for me.
Yeah no kidding, the intensity they bring and most of the way through the show????? They're NOT out of gas????? WOW...……..

BD must have had an awful night in percussion. They were only 2 tenths behind Bloo at Drums along the Rockies 6 tenths behind Bloo tonight.
Well I'm not a percussion expert, but I could hear some issues with timing etc. tonight that I don't remember hearing earlier this year. With the caliber of shows/level of performance these corps put these days, I'm not surprised when someone has an off night.

3 of the top 4 (SCV, BD, and Crown) all have the same concept of the celebration of drum corps of old and embracing the new. They approach them differently, yes, but the underlying concept is the same
Well of COURSE Cappy, they all want to WIN right?

I've felt this way the last 3-4 years now. Yeah, I'm obviously going to root for Crown as an alum but I haven't felt for a second that the "wrong corps" won any of the last few years. I think there have been multiple championship worthy shows and even though only one can get that gold, I think we're the ones benefiting from such great stuff being put out on the field. This is just another year of that trend...
Heh, yeah hopefully we won't have a #### "4th place island" this year hehe.

IMO different opinions (judges) won't change the final results.
Well I would certainly hope they would, if they felt that another corps was better but heh we'll see I guess.

I'm never interested in scores only placements and spreads - they tell the truth. But it's okay to agree to disagree.
And that lead over SCV has dwindled sir which could CHANGE that placement.....

I always take issue with a comment that says a judge screwed over someone. Maybe they just, you know, judged and called it as they saw it... One judge focusing on his specific caption during an entire show or a fan judging all captions during a show; hmmm I'll take the judge every time.
Right, it happens sometimes, doesn't mean it will stay that way forever but yeah, call em as you see/hear em.

Is it just me? Did Crown have a fuller sound then everyone else or is it just floMarching that made the other corps sound wacko? I realize CC has the best brass and all but I could also here battery/pit with Crown. I have not heard any of the others as clearly. ?
No they were ####### with the #### audio feed all night, THAT wore me out more than anything else tonight heh.

Yes....it is.....

If I remember correctly, this was the first year that Tom Blair was not involved with the project because he had moved on to another employer (could be wrong). Audio recordings were a MESS for the most part until he returned.

I know EXACTLY where there should be one... Right before the big impact in "After The Storm."
Well that is EXACTLY where it was yesterday at their standstill performance in Stanford.....
-
Well from what I saw/heard tonight, BD's brass is unreal so far. That being said, SCV has a 6th gear in the hornline this year so we will see.....
-
For those of you that think the Blue Knights can challenge this corps...................................uhhhh........................................I didn't see ANYTHING that convinced me of that tonight. NOT one bit.....

There might be an Amish family nearby that stadium.
Yeah likely, lots of Amish folk up there. Great pic lol.

Alright, rounds 1 and 2 are complete and it's TIME FOR ROUND 3!!!!! And the BEST part of it is most of us WILL BE THERE as we FINALLY get video!!!!!
My biggest fear is that because no one is in true "game shape" yet, do we see a bit of a drop off in performance level (I hope not)? 3 shows in 3 nights is quite a stretch to begin the season when your muscles/respiratory system aren't tuned for it yet. We will see I guess. GOOD LUCK TO ALL CORPS TONIGHT and I look forward to watching ALL of you!!!!!

Yeah Cappy, I think that is the ONLY time that has happened from semis to finals. I could be wrong, but I don't think that has happened but just that one time in 2008.
-
Several "almosts" come to mind, but not many that were able to complete it. Of those "almosts" that haven't been mentioned yet:
1995 Blue Devils (lost in the final week)
1992 Star of Indiana (lost in the final week)
1987 Santa Clara Vanguard (lost in the final week)
1989 Santa Clara Vanguard (lost.....one show that year I think in the first week?)
1989 Phantom Regiment (didn't lose until the final week I think?)
I'm sure there are many others but just can't think of them right now hehe.
-
But the spork BREAKS too easily LOL.
-
Well they changed the ending to "IN YOUR FACE" last year so you just might get your wish heh.

I agree. I find this show VERY entertaining and can listen to just the music book (no drill) and be MORE than satisfied. Just wish my spoon was bigger so I could eat it all UP.
-
Eh hard to say, most changes bring in a lot of dirt in the beginning (of course). So far I feel what they have now as a whole is really GOOD. I'm interested to see where they can take this vehicle.
