  1. I just got my tickets! Taking a friend who hasn't seen a competition in twenty years but now he's an elementary music teacher. Who else will be there?

It starts at 5p. Any tips on how early to get there to get good seats? Or anything about the venue. I see movies there all the time but wondering if it will be full screen. I've heard horror stories about volume etc and this is the first time for this theater.

  2. 1992 Moonlight Classic in Stockton, CA

    [snip]

VK Awsome and I had'nt ever laughed that hard.

I remember VK. When you are going for it, go for it. Throw out the kitchen sink! Loved them. They were so fun. Loved the attitude. DM with sunglasses resting on a lounge chair drinking an umbrella beverage during retreat lol.

  3. As an addendum to my original post, years before 1985, in the late '70's? I saw a PBS broadcast of DCI and saw some corp marching across the field playing "Georgia". OMG. I didn't know they showed the competitions every year so didn't know to look for it again. So I was "audibly & visually" deflowered seeing that, just didn't get physically deflowered at a live competiton until 1985. Just wanted to make sure everyone understands my sexual history. :-p

  4. Oh Chad, I think that isn't really a rumor, it was speculation as to what Hoppy might have been thinking of when he mentioned having an idea of a new-new ending that may or may not work. Get back to work, troublemaker!! :P

I proposed a new Cadet ending to Hops on his blog day before yesterday (I'm SURE he appreciated it NOT). Have the corp run through the Little White House while doing a little "Magic Pants" 1985 SCV magic I reminded him that BD pulled out a Choo-choo train exit on finals night recently so last minute changes can be done! :-D Sigh, I love the Cadets anyway this year. Just tonight watched a bootleg (albiet bad video, bad angle) performance of 2006 Cadets on "the evil" site. I appreciate them even more!

  5. Another one I'd forgotten about was the Spirit of JSU tribute. When they played "Send in the Clowns", with Gail Royer's flag running down the field, oh yeah...I lost it. I miss U G.R.!

Ok, I just about lost it reading about that. I heard SCV play it in the parking lot after a CA show and it was sooooo moving.

BD's warmup sans percussion in the parking lot gets to me too.

  6. I've got to agree.

First he insisted on a longer intermission for his bathroom break

Then he started rearranging the folks in the stands

Now he's rescheduling the entire event!

What's next? Perhaps he'll reassign the judging panel and rewrite a few rules?? lol

I think he will lead the audience in a prayer, kinda like Betty Ford did at a political convention after the guy onstage had a heart attack or sumpin.
