Potter
That's who I thought it was. I got to meet him at the Tulsa DCI theater broadcast earlier this week.

Who is announcing tonights show?
-
I stay because you never know if the new season will bring something of great beauty or excitement. It might or might not, so you have to make the effort to see. In 2010 I heard THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSIC I've ever heard in my life when I heard Phantom Regiment's "Into the Light" show. It placed 6th in finals, so a show doesn't have to be a medalist to deeply touch and inspire you.

Who is that playing now on FN?
-
ok..so i'll predict it right now. The worm hole will emerge at finals and purple pants will come out.. LOL
Hmm. Would it be too much if the boy and girl from the bench last year appeared out of a bass drum in this year's show?

On FN Support it says " If you require technical support during a live event please use the LIVE CHAT support system that will be located on the front page of the Fan Network." but I don't see anything on the front page of FN that says LIVE CHAT. I was going to ask them how long the delay is.

Here is another link to live radar: http://wthr.images.worldnow.com/images/incoming/sir/interactive-radar.html
Here is a link to where the stadium is: http://mapq.st/1qf2lDI
Looks like the storm is about past maybe but someone above said 1 hour delay.
Hello from Adair, OK!

Has the performance order been announced for the 6/23/14 theater DCI Tour Premier? I can't find it anywhere. I know someone wanting to come but they will miss the first part so wondering who they might miss. They don't want to miss Carolina Crown.

Double awesome because it's on a mellophone player!
-
... I just wish I "got it".
Anyone care to explain?
Do you get this?
especially starting at 4:00.They are telling an "old, old story" of two lovers. On top of that are references to Einstein. For example, "Bern, 1905". That was the place and time where Albert Einstein the physicist published five papers that changed the world and our understanding of it. At the end of the show the guy travels through a wormhole (the bass drums) to get to his love. Wormholes (time & space travel) are predicted by Einstein's equations. There are other threads that discuss all of these little references.
That was over a hundred years ago. Since then do we fully understand all of the implications of Einstein's work? No. Do we fully understand love and the lengths it makes people go to in order to find it? No.

I'm 50.
Some days I think the average age on here is 12.
Ditto. Ditto. 28 in drum corp years. The first live show I saw was 1985's SCV magic pants

Everything must have an ending except my love for Crown's 2013 program.

I TOTALLY AGREE with the OP. In fact, I have reduced my visits to DCP as a result. I'm not a fan of some folks who attack even the most personal and well-considered opinions. And, when marching members of the activity shy away from DCP because of this, it does not bode well for the site.
I posted an observation earlier in the season but stayed off of DCP most of the season because of the rudeness of the replies. I didn't care to see any more snarky replies by egocentric tween bandos. I've come back during the final weeks of the season mainly to see the show posts while I watch the FN broadcasts.
EDIT: I'm not saying everyone here is an egocentric tween bando!

Phantom 2010 hands down. The soft ending made yoj feel as though you had taken a journey during the show, ending with you moving beyond "into the light". Pure beauty
Pure beauty and pure power together. My favorite show of all time.

So I was watching the show again on that website today and noticed something I hadn't before. I deliberately didn't watch the show before I saw it live in Allentown. There's a lot of sequential work in the guard like tosses down a line of guard and things of that nature and it really struck me again just how well thought out and executed this show is. They took the sequential additive nature of Einstein on the Beach and integrated it into their color guard. I realize this is a standard thing for color guards to do but it seems to be more prevalent in this show and it really makes me happy, whether I'm reading too much into it or not.
But doesn't Crown guard have the sequential work every year? It's something I've always noticed and appreciated and thought it did work so very well with this year's theme.

...I would like to see, post season, interviews with the judges on what they saw and why the scored as they did. Further enlighten fans as to specifics on how they determine content and achievement. Perhaps an online chat too with the head of judging. I think that would go a long way in showing transparency as well as an educational benefit for those of us who do not judge.
That would be great. I found a judge's tape for a BOA championship online that you could listen to at the same time as watching the show on video. It was very interesting to hear what the judge liked. Do they have training videos for the judges that explain the judging sheets with examples of different levels of performance? That would be interesting and educational.

Should all FN subscribers do it even if they didn't watch or had no intention of ever watching this particular feed?
I think if the advertised multi-cam Buffalo show was part of your decision to purchase your package, and you did in fact try to watch the horrid broadcast and were shocked that you were paying for the POS, then by all means request a refund. I asked for a prorated refund this morning on FN Support but haven't heard back yet. If I get ($20/$220)*$69 = $6.27 refunded then that is fair.
I should ask for a free pass to watch Finals as compensation for the emotional pain & suffering I experienced ;-)

It's like they gave the cameras to monkeys ...
And like they put the microphone (singular) up a monkey's butt, and let the head monkey call the shots on the multicam.

If you want to gamble your $ then go ahead. I am in complete disbelief over the audio from Buffalo, the bad direction on the multicam, and the bad location of the highcam. I saw a video clip someone posted from an iPhone and the sound was 100 times better.
-
Didn't he give the TOC scoring system incorrect by saying it was the cumulative score? I thought the TOC scoring was 50% weighted towards tonights show?
-
Man the audio sucks and I dont know who in the hell is directing the multi cam but man he sucks come on dci get together
My package cost should be prorated. The broadcast was CRAP in sound and direction. Even "high cam" (mid-cam) with no direction was terrible. Only middle 3rd of screen had the field.
-
I switched to high cam because I was tired of missing nice drill and watching pit players make goofy faces. But the top 3rd of the screen is seats and the bottom 3rd is back of heads.
-
Sounds like the mike is next to some guy in the audience. One person's clapping was coming through super clear.
It's very annoying.
