  1. I remember his sister, Sally Thundrthighs; played bass drum for the Media Fawns All-Girl Corps, as I recall.
  2. Marty, For some reason, I was thinking Bon-Bons, but I don't know why. I do acquiesce to your vast knowledge!
  3. By the by, Marty, what ever happened to Bart Bartholomew? I haven't seeen him around drum corps in years. Of course, maybe I just wouln't recognize him anymore.
  4. That Marty is just a plethera of totally useless knowledge! (But one hell of a horn player)
  5. Pricie forgot to include the annual Forum gig with Westshore. They usually rock the house!
  6. Official Guess: Since the geography fits, & he's been quiet lately, my guess for #253 is Jim F,3rd bari, who I hope to have the pleasure to meet at a show this summer.
  7. Great question Nanci. I know this is a "All-age" forum, and there have been some great shows by Reading, Sky, Cabs, Brigs & Hurcs, just to name a few. My top shows though, were performed by DCI corps. Number 1: 1989 SCV, with the "Phantom of the Opera" show & number 2: Madison's "Pirates of Lake Mendota" show, although I don't recall the year. SCV's "Phantom of the Opera" show was the closest any corps has come to doing a Broadway show on a football field. I guess the common thread in both shows was that they were entertaining. Oh, and an honorable mention to all Bobby Hoffman created Bridgemen shows.
  8. Westshore???? I thought the corps name was Wormleysburg!!!!!!
  9. By the way Jose, make sure you have your Flagg Flyers shined for Midnight Mass! Just got my Nehu jacket out of the cleaners, so I'm ready to go! For what it's worth, I stopped doing "moons" back in the 60's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Marty, Thanks for the cancellation update. And here I drove back to PA from FL just for practice tonight. Actually, up for the holidays, family visits and doctors appointments. This rotten weather makes me miss Florida, just that much more. As for the 32 in waist pants; I'll pass them down to you, if I ever outgrow them. I'm waiting for hand-me-downs from Jimmy C. that I can wear as Bermuda shorts back in Florida. Hi to Tara & the "G-Man". Back to the post: I was in Nam with a Kiltie named Dave Krump. He was a drummer in the middle 60's.
  11. Oz, Thanks for the information. Peggy Lipton is also 9 months older than me. Back in the day, many a teenage boy watched the show, only to see her. In my mind she will always look like the picture you posted. But then again, in my mind, I've got much more hair (not gray) and a 32 in. waist. I guess thats why we do alumni corps. When we're playing we're still 25 or 17 or......I think it's time for my medication now.
  12. I think the guy on the left is "Linc" from Mod Squad, but where's Julie, with the long blonde hair?
  13. Happy Birthday Nanci, and congrats on a thread that will never end!
  14. Two men were sentenced to a fireing squad in a South American country. When asked for their last request, the first said:"I'd like to hear "Achey Breakey Heart " played one more time." The second, when asked said" Shoot me first". This came from a musicain in a C&W band. I'll bet Donny & Hairbear can relate.
  15. I have a thumbnail picture if Donny Sollinger, but no onw would recognize him by his thumbnail, toenail or any other nail!
  16. Could it be Bobby Craig? He & I were in Viet Nam together way back when & he taught this horn player many Sac drum parts.
  17. Totally off topic, but I was remindeg by all of the Philly talk.........There's a new all age corps starting up called " Sounds of Philadelphia" and I wish them all the luckin the world. I just find it a little ironic that they are holding rehersals not in Philly, but 35 miles away in Lansdale, PA. Logically, shouldn't they be called "Sounds of Lansdale"? Just a thought.
  18. I stand corrected: the "D" in Philadelphia is always silent. To regress, there's also no pigs feet souse, headcheese, TastyKakes, Herrs chips, or Shoo-fly pie to be found anywhere in the deep south. There is great bar-b-que, rock shrimp & grupper though.
  19. Yo, what about Tony Luke's, at Front & Oregon.....now that's Souf Philly!
  20. There's a definite scrapple shortage, here in Florida; can't find any, anywhere! Grits, grits, everywhere grits!!!
  21. I guess that's why Al Cola moved to the horn line. And I guess he switched from bass drum to contra bass because it was so much lighter to carry? It must have made sence to Al.
  22. I'm going to go out on a limb here & take a guess............none of them are George Hayek! Am I right????
  23. George Hayek? Here I thought it was Blackie DeMarco!
  24. FAMILY THREAD ????? I think we can count the members of this thread under 60 on one hand & even those members are in there 50's. I do appologize & I will adhere to a more stringent moral code in the future, for the sake of our youngsters: JWare, Marty & Hairbair!!!! Can't we keep this thread going until we all need glasses? (I'm allready there)
  25. Would that be considered "premature egeorgeacation"???
