  1. The Defenders Alumni Corps will be hosting a meat raffle this Sunday from 2-4 PM at Players Sports Bar in Rockland, MA. Anyone is welcome, it's a great public bar with a side room for events like this. Stop in and talk some drum corps, watch some football and help the corps out if your in the area.

We're hoping for a full house at our Open House on Jan. 17.

After we dust off a few tunes from last year, we'll get busy with Never My Love.

    Thanks

I guess the word is out!

Our ballad for 2010 will be Never My Love as played by the 1981 Defenders.

Come to the open house to hear it.

  8. Just 1983. I should have written a Plymouth review, I watched everybody but my family was there and I didnt have a notebook. I also am too blunt and wouldve probably caused drama.

That's exactly the kind of review I'd like to see!

I, for one, would like to hear from people that not only like our performance but those who didn't.

How else do we get better next year?

Let me have it, I can take it.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Brass Director

  9. Im a 27 alum. This is my 1st year with PCP. Im trying to help the corps keep the drumline moving forward. Thanks for the tip.

    I'm a 27 alum too.

I taught The Lancers with Wedge in 1972 & 73.

I taught the Defenders in the 70s and early 80s, now I'm teaching and playing with the Defenders Alumni Corps.

What years did you march 27?

    I'm an old timer, I marched 1970 & 71 (Also 94).

  10. We very excited about the 2009 Defenders Alumni Corps.

We have a talented horn line of over 50, an incredible drum line and much improved guard.

We're playing some Defender favorites like Divergents, Brass Roots, She's Not There, and St. Louis Blues (a re-mix of a song we played in the 60s).

Our finale will be Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor which should bring the house down.

I'm going to check out as many of the other corps as I can Saturday night.

Every corps has a signature sound and style.

It should be a great show.

    Good Luck to All

  11. Is this what you were looking for Liz?

    8:50 - 9:10 - Blessed Sacramant

    9:10 - 9:30 - Reilly Raiders

    9:30 - Hawthorne Caballeros

Now why did I have this info?

It's shaping up to be a great show!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Hanover Lancers for the first time and Reilly Raiders for the first time since the 60's!

Park City Pride & BS always puts on a great show. Either one is worth the price of admission.

Defenders, Boston, and St. Kevins' have all improved since last year (and they were all very good last year!).

Bring your ear-plugs for the Caballeros, they'll bring the house down.

    Hope to see you there.
