  1. We only had the percussion music a week and these guys just blasted right through it. I would be honored to play with this percussion section come Rochester, even if I just play a tamborine. ( I play a pretty mean tamborine...)

I'm sure the other sections will grow as well. We will be all around the state at different rehearsal sites like gypsy's. We may be coming to a town near you..... :music:

I got a call from a long time drummer who stopped by the camp. He was out of his mind with the Sun Devils drum line. Nice job guys and gals.

  2. Yes Pokey you heard correct! The rehearsal schedule through April is up on the website calendar. The staff section is updated as well.

    GO SUN DEVILS!

HEY ALL YOU FOLKS IN THE SARASOTA AREA KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR TV. THE SUN DEVILS AD WILL BE SHOWING SOON !!!

    ('ALL GOOOOOOOOD !!)

  3. The horns are clean and set up along with the drums/percussion. I will open the gates around noon and 1pm will begin the 1st season for The Sun Devils!

If you live in Florida, want to compete in DCA this summer then come on down and be ready to rehearse the music from The Last Samurai.

    You won't be disappointed.

AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING!! yeaaaa.

  4. I cant wait til Sunday! I'm really looking forward to getting to play with a drum corps again, even though only 5 months ago I was on tour with Teal Sound. I believe this will be a diffrent kind of experiance to me, and I'm looking forward to meeting all you new people and getting to play some killer music.:cool::cool:

    GO SUN DEVILS!!

Good to you on board !!

  5. The fourth Friday of the month is Jazz Night at St. Armand's Circle...free concert with national acts.

Drum circle at Siesta Key Beach on Sunday evenings...imagine the drum line walking in with drums on and blowing everyone away at the beach while the sun sets!

Wing House in Bradenton or Hooters in Bradenton or Sarasota.

Great eating establishments like RJ Gators and many, many more!

Maybe a get together at my house...after we get some construction things done in the kitchen and garage...any builders out there?

See yall SUNDAY. Got a call from a couple more contra dudes today !!

  6. Things are cooking in Sarasota. This week will be busy and the team will be in on Saturday to get ready for the first rehearsal. If you are coming out...bring your mouthpiece, sticks, banner and be ready to learn the entire book.

    See you in one week!!!

The drums, horns equipment truck etc. were delivered to Saraota today. I'll bet it felt like Christmas.

  7. I looked at the website and noticed that the Board of Directors is also the staff. I also think that I've seen the name of their Corps Director some where....a little help here...anyone?

This never got off the ground. It was a concept with no equipment, money etc. A couple of enthusiastic but VERY young folks. No camp etc ever took place.

  8. arent you guys the same ones that ran Heatwave the last couple years?

    why change your name

Nope. I am on the Heat Wave BOD. We have only agreed to assist with equipment, initial administration etc. Heat Wave currently exists to assist the marching music arts in Florida. We have assisted 2 Orlando area high school bands with $ and/or equipment. We have also worked with an east coast color guard with fund raising this year.

The offer to assist the marching music activity in Florida was posted on our web site several months ago. We can always use more volunteers.

OH yea I hope to get my chops in shape to march with Sun Devils. (anybody want to car pool from the Brevard area?)
