  1. Interesting tid bit of information. Up until the multi-key rule change, trombones were legal; provided they were pitched in G. I remember doug thrower wanted to use them for the opening of autumn leaves in 98, but the slide would have been over 7 feet long :D I assume these contrabass trombones' slides are similar to that deg quattro thing i've been hearing about so inspector gadget isn't needed for 7th position. -just a curious trumpet player
  2. I always found my trumpet playing to be much more solid after playing a bugle at a camp. .459" vs. .470" on the bugle just makes the trumpet a little easier to play. Air's moving, I'm consciously thinking about slotting notes, and the obvious: I just played a brass instrument for 24 hours in two days. The pitch thing never bothered me. It usually takes about 5 minutes to turn the knob to the right a minor 3rd.
  3. For the past few years coats have required marcinkiewicz 308s for sopranos. Kinda like a bach 1-1/2 C. Pretty good match for the powerbore kanstul, comfortable rim, actual existance of a backbore. I must say though, my 20 year old Bach 1-1/4 C makes the biggest sound I've ever heard from a sop.
