  1. what a bunch of sissies!!! you guys never had it bad at all, not like me. once, at retreat, we had all the contras set just perfect on the ground and knelt down to pick them up. now, normally, we would kneel, grab our horns, and pop back up in unison, but not this night. we stayed kneeling down for what felt like gee, i don't know, minutes. needless to say, my foot totally fell asleep, and when our section leader gave the command to stand, i half stood, half fell down, had to catch myself and totally screwed up our uniformity. it was brutal man, brutal. a horrific sports injury if ever there was one but you know what? next morning, for stretch and basics, i was right there dude, ironman, gutting it out, recently sleeping foot and all.

    top that, suckas!

I can't imagine your pain. I hope I never have to go through something like that....EVER! It would be too painful for me to handle.

  2. I'm also a CMM. I guess I don't post that much, and when I do post, it's usually something meaningless, but I read alot of this stuff. I tend to stay away from all the debate topics and focus more on the fun discussion topics like "favorite shout-out," or threads where I can learn something about a corps' history. I prefer those.
I march, but I don't post that often because it's hard to find topics I feel I can contribute something meaningful. Instead, I read. A lot.

    Yeah, what they said.

  3. If only my hometown Boston roommate was here to read this. Just made my day that much more enjoyable from studying for exams.

But then again, 1972 was a long time ago, and the league has changed a lot in terms of talent, players ability, etc... Also, look where Miami is right now at the end of the season (1-11... HA!)

    1-11??? You mean 1-15 lol

  4. I'm saddened by it because I discovered the activity so late, and 3 years isn't enough for me. I wish I could've had a fourth so I could gain more...but, I'll just have to make the best of the years I do have left!

Hey, at least you found it earlier enough to have 3 years. :ninja:

I'm marching the ONE year I have available, and I'm hoping to make everything out of it.

  5. Hey, look at this, from the corps website:

    Freddy Martin Joins Spirit Staff

    Written by Joel Vincent

    Wednesday, 31 October 2007

Spirit is pleased to announce Spirit founder and Director Emeritus, Freddy Martin has accepted a position as Brass Advisor and Music Consultant for the 2008 season. Martin, a 2006 inductee into the DCI Hall of Fame, founded Spirit in 1976 and served as the corps' Director from 1976 until 1993.

So, apparently he left Phantom? Or is he going to be with both?
