One more BD 76
-
1976 BD. Today could anyone ever imagine a DCI champion with 6 contra?
-
I know these aren't great but here are a couple from 1976 Cavies
-
I found this 1976 lancer picture. Sorry for the blur.
I'm pretty sure this is prelims because I think 2-7 changed to black pants in finals.

I remember a lot of things about 73. I remember seeing the Stockton Commodors and saying "Man those cats can play". Who knew that Ott was working that line and what it would lead to.
In 73 Muchachos became a real player in the east. I was with 2-7 and we tied them twice, two shows in a row. We all know what 74 & 75 WERE FOR THEM.
73 was my favorite St. Andrews (Bridgemen for you youngsters) show, Mr Clown, Summer of 42.
2-7 palyed Crown for the first time, AND so did Bellville Black Knights who had the tallest bari line I ever saw and made top 12.
Yes 73 is also my favorite SCV. So many arcs and flowing forms, it was "different" and that's what made it cool. And that closer of Havala I think was awesome, that hit the mello solo was powerful, just powerful

1977 with the Holy Family Defenders. When I left 2-7 after 73 I went into the service. H.F.D. let me march 76 & 77 while I was still in the service back in MA.

man.. if cadets did a non-narration show.. with some awesome music.. id be all over it.. but this.. yuck. cut the narration.. give us drum corps
I saw them last Friday night and you can't deny that they are an excellent drum corps. Narration or not ( and I prefer not) they are very very good. It is not the typical Cadets show. It is visually written a little different and it is interesting and good.
I have not been a big fan of the last few productions (The Door & Alice) but this is a bit different.
Hey a Corvette is still a Corvette even if you don't like the color. I think this Cadets show might have the legs.

Bluecoats Win! Biggest Upset in Drum Corps History
Seeing this post this morning about an early season show in OH just confirmed my feelings that most (not all) of the people that post on the Div. 1 page have no clue what drum corps was.
I'm feeling old, I need a nap.

There’s a reason why my grandfather liked the retirement home, the people there knew what he was talking about. Leave us in our own home please.

I'm not 100% sure but I think this is the Wayne Monarcs. Can someone confirm?

OK a couple more that I have no idea who that are!

That's awesome Dale!!!!!!!!
I haven't checked this thread for a while and was shocked and thrilled to see these.
We always looked up to the Defenders and kept pulling for you right up through '82 when Eric and Steve were on staff.
I can still see you guys bursting out of the arc during the hit in Solitaire all those years ago.
Looks like these pics are from the WO Finals in 1980?
Thanks Russ. Here is that burst, it was a cool moment.

78-78 Boston Crusaders
Hi Dusty, It's Dale Powers.
I sent about 40 pictures of BAC to Bob Kennedy but I still have a few from 78 & 79 I can post over the weekend.
21st? My brother Brian might have a few, let me ask him this weekend.

It only took a 1016 pages and I finally made it. Thank you Dale.
I think I have this same picture somewhere. Someday I will dig through and put up more Lancer Cadet photos
Keith I have 3 or 4 more of that corps. I'll post them tomorrow.

They have been around a long time.
-
The corps made famous by Pepe Notaro. The Fitchburg Kingsmen
-
I believe this is the Bengal Lancers
-
I think this is the Malden Diplomats, the original Malden corps, that eventually became East Coast Jazz.
-
Another one of Bayonne.

Here is one of the Lancer Cadets. I think Keith might be in this picture.
