  1. When I contacted my alum corps to send in some money they said that i could simply mail it to the corps office on the dci page and in the envelope just attach a note that said donation or something of that nature. I think you can even request a receipt for your tax records. I hope everyone enjoys the 2006 season, I know I am. I have a 10 hour drive to finals, but its worth it. I understand that people get upset that DCI is changing and evolving, but doesn't everything; lifeforms, technology...? Why can't we appreciate it for what it is and not for what it used to be. I mean don't get me wrong, i love to watch the shows from the past. However, I dont see anyone complaining because there is a person marching with 5 drums attached to their waste... "back in my day we only needed one." Nostalgia is great, but dont make the kids of today feel inferior because drum corps is not like it used to be. Take care all and remember that every little bit helps, dcisupporter
  2. This statement is a shining example of what dissapoints me about this community. <**> Everyone is always out to blame someone for the problem. Sometimes a problem just is. I simply used fuel as an example of the costs posed upon a corps. There are things called "corporate sponsors" that provide new horns and new uniforms and new percussion equipment... not to sound rude, but to the person that made this statement, "use some common sense". I know you have a right to complain, and say that you could do it better then the other guy, but what does that solve? I simply wanted to put the idea out there that we should support the reason that this site even exists and not constantly nag it best wishes, dcisupporter
  3. Sometimes it's the little things that can make a world of difference... As everybody knows, it is about time for the 2006 season of the summer music games to kick off. With skyrocketing fuel prices, keep in mind that your favorite drum corps will be traveling over 15,000 miles this summer to come to a city near you. Now, multiply that by 8 (4 busses, 2 tractor-trailers, a lead vehicle, a souvie mobile) that is at least 120,000 miles for ONE corps. b**bs At almost $3.00 a gallon with an average of 8-10 miles per gallon, you're talking a whole lot of money for the corps to have to shell out... Here is my challenge to you, the drum corps planet community, skip two days at Starbucks and take that $10.00 and write a check to your favorite drum corps and drop it in the mail. Cook dinner tonight instead of going out and write a couple of checks... The little things add up quickly. Drum Corps International touches a lot of lives. How many of yours have been changed because of the activity? Help keep it alive and running this summer. I mailed mine today, will you?
