Try reading IRS publication 529. (no really it's fun) I'll summarize : Dues -- NOT tax deductable. Money from Sponsor given directly for your use -- NOT tax deductable. Money given by a sponsor to the corps for someones dues, when the corp desides who benifits from that money -- this IS tax deductable (on the sponsors 1040)

For those with short memories, Pat marched Scouts and was then a director of Southwind (in the Scouts orginazation at the time). Either way he sure does have a way with (re)building corps. Good Luck to you Pat whatever you do!!!!! SUTA!!!

From what I could see (on the field..two feet from PR) most of the Cavie's rushed over to hear it. They seemed to understand the respect they were being given. It was a great drum corps moment.
