  1. I really like the design. The continuous stripe really makes them look tall and solid through the torso. The short gauntlets also make their arms seem longer. The only issue for me is their sleeves need to be tailored a bit. But that is getting way nit-picky. I think it is great how they tied in their police background. Very sharp. Great job to the design team!
  2. Star or not... I think their book is kinda boring. I feel like they are kinda selling out. I like the pegasus nod in the bassline. Way to easy to be that out of tune. But it is early and their staff is amazing. I am sure the book will beef up and their tone and pitch will improve markedly as it does almost every year!
  3. To change it up a bit I will talk about the shows that I thought were brilliant this year! I will start with the one that will shock people! I LOVED San Jose Raiders this year! I know it is wierd but I felt like I was in an abstract moment when expression was expression and it wasn't about getting points off the sheet. Same goes for Avon who took a similar approach in the Ensemble caption! That was my favorite show of the season! Onyx made me cry! Ok... sniffle a bit. Such a good show! I think that is my favorite show of theirs besides their Symph-onyx show in 2001! I love Shoshtakovich. Choctaw, Logan, Ventures, Code Black, West Johnston, Crown, all were amazing. Oh and LEIGH!!! Adorable show! They are really going places! Guess thats it. Have a fun summer! And don't forget to practice! ... with technique! :) Kenny Act 1 Open FFX Guard
  4. I can't wait to see Michael and his teams! We went last year and it was so supportive and awesome! I know my kids met a lot of new friends and it was great for me to see the talented Onyx staff at work! See you in Dayton! Kenny Act 1 Staff
  5. We just got these guns last week and my kids adjusted to them very quickly. They are a bit thicker all around which gives it a commanding look in the floor. They sound great when you catch too. Kenny Act I Ind. Open
  6. I am surprised that no one has mentioned Crossmen's sop line. They are stellar, when standing still. I always LOVE their ballad and this year is no exception. The radio section is cheezy but if the cavies can take a minute to do drill tricks with no music I don't see what the big deal is here. Boston was all T and no A. There was no bottom sound and the high end was too thin and strident. I love Jennifer Higdon and I think they dumbed her music down way to much. I didn't even recognize the Concerto for Orchestra. Crowns book is very demanding compared to previous years. I saw their guard rehearsing and they are crazy talented. Great balance. Phantom is sumptous. I got the concept just by hearing the music. THEIR DRUMLINE IS JUST PLAIN INCREDIBLE!! They are a blast!!
